Celebrities: Having Babies, Naming Babies

Post  Arabella on Tue Oct 25, 2011 7:01 pm

Jessica Simpson may not be commenting but her ex Tony Romo has his own news to share:
During a visit to Cedar Hill High School near Dallas, a student asked if he has any children. "Um, no, I don't have any kids," Romo replied, following up with, "I've actually got one on the way. My wife's pregnant."

As the students clapped, Romo, 31, smiled, raised his fist and said, "It'll be fun."

Romo and his wife, Candice Crawford, 24, were married on May 28.

While the board was down I discovered that Keri Russell is expecting baby number two.

Bruce Willis is married? Have I been living under a rock?

Romo seems like such a dick. I know nothing about him; just a vibe I get.

I hadn't even realized that Bruce Willis got remarried! I wonder if he'll have yet another a daughter and if so, whether or not she'll have as strange a name as Rumer. The name Tallulah is pretty, and Scout is adorable, but Rumer is just plain odd.

Heh, I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering what kind of name this child will get without Demi in the picture. I think Tallulah actually changed her name to Lula, and she was the one with the most conventional name.

Rumer is already a bizarre enough name, and then it's spelled with a second E instead of an O, which makes it even odder. Was Demi the one who named all their children? I'm now so curious as to how they picked those names.

Rumer is named after Rumer Godden, I believe, who wrote a lot of sweet children's books about dolls. Scout I think is named after Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird, but I don't know if I actually know that or am just assuming. Tallulah, though, I don't know.

Ahhh, that explains it. Thanks so much for the info, Instant Monkeys. I've always assumed Scout was named after the literary character as well. Whenever I hear Tallulah, I think of Tallulah Bankhead...or Jodie Foster's character in Bugsy Malone. It's a safer bet that she'd be named after a classic film star rather than a very random movie character, but they probably just chose the name because it's awesome.

I am pretty sure Tallulah was named after Tallulah Bankhead.

I don't know why I'd never thought to ask about their names here before since it's pretty much always a sure bet that one of you lovely snarkers will be able to satisfy my curiosity. Thanks for the name origin confirmation, biakbiak!

Via twitter at that! I guess no one wanted to cough up for the exclusive. I agree that they won't get married.

Aww, I really wanted her to just never confirm it. That would have been fun. If she wanted people to cough up money for an exclusive, she maybe shouldn't have waited until she was showing that much, and then walk around town in tight shirts.

I think they are going to make it because shes...not smart and he totally reeks of gold digger who knows hes got it good and won't do anything to damage it to me.

Which I find depressing but hey.

At least until they've said their 'I dos'. Do I remember correctly hearing that she was refusing to get a pre-nup because it wasn't godly or something like that? If that's true I wouldn't be surprised at all if he finishes it after a few months and swans off merrily with his half.

Apropos of nothing, he was a few years ahead of me in college. A friend of a friend was quite close with him, and at their 10 year reunion, this guy and his wife spent the whole weekend JSimp, Eric Johnson, Cash Warren and Jessica Alba. Can you imagine being that poor wife?

It seems to be a classier aftermath then Jude Law's love child so at least that's good.

Ha, that's sounds like such gossip writer-speak. They did a good job with that statement otherwise though. "Hugh could not be happier or more supportive" sounds much better than other statements in these situations, which come across more like "taking responsibility" versus actually happy to have a baby.

I'm also guessing they were trying to beat a tabloid who was going to be like "one night stand baby!"

And agreed it is classier.

I can't help it. I love Hugh Grant. Its like one of those I wish I could quit you loves.
