So I read on Screen Rant that there are already rumors of a Twilight reboot in the works. In the past I would have said "No effin' way!" But, you know. Spiderman. Superman. The Hulk. The Mummy. Van Helsing. Transformers. etc.

I feel like people are already losing interest NOW and we're going into the last film where interest should be at its height.

Teaser to the teaser is out and sweet fancy Moses, does this look awful. And I mean, awful even by Twilight standards. The Volturi scenes are making me long for the production values of Season 1 of Buffy.

Every time I hear the word 'Renesmee', I die a little on the inside. I'm really looking forward to this, though. If it's half as campy and ridiculous as Part 1, I'll be well pleased.

Disclaimer: I haven't read the books or seen any of the movies. But I'm an EW subscriber which...is apparently the same thing.

ANYWAY. I always say her name "Rene-smee" in my head. Like a French guy with a tiny mustache and Captain Hook's sidekick. Every time.

Maybe the fanbase is growing out of it?

The Twilight spoofing episode of CSI: Miami was on a couple weeks ago. Ridiculousness synergy.

Thanks to the Robsten blow-up, I keep seeing things about Taylor getting asked about Renessmee (sp?). Could someone explain that to me? Why will that be embarrassing?

Because the Reneesmee thing is Pedo to the max, he has to believably portray lusty-soulmate love for a child. If Robsten was really UNBROKEN than he might have faced less questions about it, as I think the entire marketing team probably wanted to gloss over that, but now that Robsten IS broken, and the publicity surrounding it might overwhelm the selling of the film, or prove difficult to focus promotion on Rob/Kristen, he'll be subbed in for all that PR work and naturally his pedo storyline will come up more. So, yeah it's probably something he's looking forward to even less than he was before.

Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, which in the Twiverse means he is unconditionally bound to her for the rest of his life. SMeyer insists it's not love at first sight but more like the imprinter becomes whatever the imprintee needs him to be at the time, be it a protector/best friend/lover. And an imprinting can't be forced on anyone, it has to be that the person is meant to be the "perfect match" for the other. Sounds like romantic soulmates despite all of SMeyer's denials and many think it's hella creepy that Jacob has this sort of bond with any baby let alone Bella's daughter considering his feelings for/history with Bella. To the less charitable it can come off like Jacob will end up with Renesmee because he couldn't have Bella and it's just a matter of the daughter being "old enough".

So everyone figures the promotion of BD2 was going to be heavy on Rob and Kristen talking about Edward and Bella, with less focus on Taylor Lautner because his storyline is creepy, but now that Robsten is awkward they'll have to lean more on Taylor and the other actors to promote the movie but Taylor especially since he's the biggest star in the cast aside from Rob and Kristen. And the thought is that with the spotlight on Taylor that will put more attention on Jacob's unfortunate storyline this time around.

So apparently Breaking Dawn 2 has a batshit crazy ending, the likes of which has never been seen before but has been sanctioned by Stephenie Meyer herself so it's kinda canon? I'm really curious as to what the ending is but I'm not sure if I want to be spoiled before I see the film (because if I sat through the other films, I am watching this and getting closure, no matter what) but then I think, it's Breaking Dawn, does it really matter if you know the ending, but then I think maybe it'd be more fun to see it on screen first.

Wow, you'd think I had nothing else going on in my life right now.

I saw it today and thought it was actually pretty good! It's not going to win any awards, of course, but it's genuinely entertaining throughout and even pretty funny at parts. I'd say it's much better than the book...although that's not saying much, I guess.

I'm not going to spoil the ending, but it was very satisfying, and even the credits were great, because they showed and named every single cast member of the entire saga, even those who weren't in this particular film. I thought that was pretty cool.

Anyway, I liked it and this time I'm not even ashamed to admit it. Much.

Since I probably won't see it until the RiffTrax comes out, could someone spoiler tag the big ending?

Re: The Twilight Saga

Basically,
Spoiler:
the Cullen clan plus assorted guests and wolves line up against the Volturi, because Crazy Aro has decided that Renesmee needs to die. Alice and Jasper rush in at the last moment with added information, and Aro takes her hand to find out what's up. Then Alice pulls her hand out and says (paraphrasing) "YOU DICK! IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER WHAT I SHOW YOU BECAUSE YOU JUST WANT TO FIGHT ANYWAY!!" And then Jacob-as-wolf runs off with Renesmee on his back while the two factions start attacking each other. Carlisle and Jasper get their heads ripped off, cute little Seth the Wolf and sister Leah the Wolf get killed, as do Jane the Pain(maker) and her brother, plus others I can't remember. And finally, Bella and Edward team up to kill Aro, and just as he's dead, we come back to Alice standing there with her hand in Aro's, saying, "So that's what will happen if you continue on your present course." And everyone lives happily ever after. There is also a final scene in the meadow where Bella shows Edward her thoughts and memories of their time together, which of course shows scenes from all the movies. Very sweet, and a nice ending for the series.
I hope that made some semblance of sense.

Right? Lainey spoiled it like a year ago and I remember thinking it was lame then. I'm kind of shocked by how people like it. I guess it must play out better than it sounds.

I didn't like it. It was LAME and did nothing but piss me off. To tease me with all the fun and then take it away to reset everything? Bullshit. And that was after the mediocrity of the entire rest of the movie.

The ending was awesome if only to see the increasingly emotional reactions of the teenaged girls at the showing. Way better than if they'd just filmed the stare-off ending.

That article is hilarious, but she is justifiably disgusted by the imprinting thing. My favourite line:

You're still left with a love story between an infant and a full-grown man who should probably just have taken the plunge with Mustache Dad instead.

We went to see the film this morning. The cinema erupted with laughter when the Oirish vampires turned up, one of them wearing a flat cap. Give me a break. And as for the Russian vampires, the last time I heard accents that bad was in Van Helsing, for crying out loud!

Baby Nessie looked so fake. It was terrible. I mean, this is the Twilight 'Saga' after all so good effects and make up is not what it's known for but you would think with the amount of money the films have made and the cast and crew they managed to assemble for these, that the f/x department would be able to pull it together, even if it was just to prove that they could this one last time they had the chance.

Seriously! Like, why, with all that money at your disposal, would you make essentially the eTrade baby? Hilarious. My friends and I entertained ourselves by nicknaming all the supporting vampires to keep them straight, like Dixie Chicks Alaska, Egyptian RDJ, Tyra Banks of the Amazon, and once we recognized Lee Pace, Pie Hard 2: Pie Harder, which made us laugh so hard we almost got kicked out of the theater, literally.

I actually loved the

fake-out fight. It was legitimately like WTFFFFFFFF even if you didn't care, and then it was kind of awesome in itself. Way better than Meyer's "Let's wrap up 4 books of tension by...standing in a field!"

So I saw the first Twilight at a movie interruption with Doug Benson, Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifankias, Michael Ian Black, and Greg Berehnt, I was shocked how shitty this movie is filmed and produced. I still believe that Billy Burke's mustache is totally fake.

I had never heard of the Movie Interruption shows, but a quick google shows it's not far from me. Totally going in the future.
