He was so charming in the LoTR extras and you could tell the cast/extras loved him. I hope he left some unpublished memoirs, because I imagine he had some amazing stories.

Not surprising after all the reports that she was terminally ill, but still really sad. :(

Former Penn State Coach Joe Paterno is in serious condition due to lung cancer.
Coming so soon after the scandal it seems like he has nothing left in the tank.

Re: Death Pool
If the sex abuse scandal that blew Paterno's career would have been disclosed in the 90s when the rumors actually started then A) Paterno would have been fired before he got the record or B) Paterno would have been hailed as a hero for confronting the abuse. Now, while I am sad that a seemingly decent man who didn't act decently passed away, I find it pathetic that people are mourning a legend. He'll never be one in my book.

Re: Death Pool
I know, ppl on facebook were accusing me of having "drunk the kool-aid" for not blaming the "media witch hunt and rush to judgement" for the death of an 80 year-old with stage four cancer. No mention of the damaged kids, just "poor JoePa got fired". I hate the world that isn't Snarkfest.

Man, the 70s are dying. Jimmy Farentino was all kinds of hot back in the day - certainly the reason he played Doug's dad on ER.
And Epstein, too. I always loved his Marx Bros. bits.

Re: Death Pool
I can't say I've been following his career, but this is shocking. Suicide alway is, I suppose.

Re: Death Pool
Earlier on the news, there was a comment that he'd been suffering from health issues. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the suicide. Still a shock, though, and I'm sorry to hear about this. He had one of the greatest voices in television history.

Leslie Carter. Sister of Nick and Aaron Carter. A minor celebrity in her own right. She released a few singles, I think. Tragic in that she's 25 and had a daughter just last April. No word on cause of death.

"Classy" Blind Gossip posted this today
More than one person in this family has achieved fame and success in the music industry, and several others have been television regulars. One of the members of the family recently passed at a very young age. While it is usual for families to ask for privacy when they are in mourning, this family is doing everything they can to cover up the cause of de*th. It turns out that several members of the family have had similar struggles and they loathe the thought of having to discuss it in public.

I've always really enjoyed her song "Like Wow!". It's such a perfect piece of bubblegum.
That's frighteningly young.

Re: Death Pool
Why is "death" not spelled out? Is it a clue somehow? I feel like I'm missing something.biakbiak wrote:"Classy" Blind Gossip posted this todayMore than one person in this family has achieved fame and success in the music industry, and several others have been television regulars. Re: Death Pool
Blind Gossip does that with a ton of words though. Swears and anything anywhere near the realm of objectionable; on the front page right now they've done it to "rehab," "drug," and "boozing." I'm not sure if it's some kind of auto-filter or not.

Re: Death Pool
I googled "Blind Gossip" to check out the site and the first subheading under the website was "Gay". Awesome.
Anyway, that formatting is so inane. If you find terms like death, boozing, and rehab so objectionable, then why build an entire website around them?
