I just saw that on Roger Ebert's Facebook page and all I could think was "Holy shit!" Ebert's post says "So sad. Not necessary. Not unexpected." But I'm kind of shocked. I have no idea why.

I saw it on Ebert's Facebook too. I suppose it shouldn't be all that surprising when you think of the circumstances, but damn. I'm really shocked.

Whoa. For whatever reason I never thought it would come to this. She was such an amazing talent. What an awful shame. And poor Bobbi Christina -I hope she has a strong network of support around her.

That's exactly what my mom said to me on the phone just now. It seemed she really had the chance to make a comeback, and now this happens. I wonder if the Grammys production team will be able to get a tribute ready for tomorrow on such short notice.

I remember seeing him in "Strumpet City" when it was on RTE. I was too young to really get the series properly but I never forgot him and it was always great to see him in films. He was an excellent actor.

Apparently this is five years old, but was never really made public: Wheels from Degrassi died in 2007. This makes me sad on a couple of different levels.

The Neil Hope (Wheels) death story is very odd, as it seems that even his family didn't know of his death until last month. From the facebook memorial page:

Please know that the Hope family and Neil's friends are also in mourning. We only found out last month that Neil was gone.
Please know that we DID attempt to contact the media at that time (CHCH, CTV and the CBC were all sent emails), but we received no replies.
We DID try to let your guys know. We're sorry had to find this way.
