I'm really sad about that one. I know she was 86 but what a loss. She just seemed like she was immortal to me.

Ann B. Davis, better known as Alice from The Brady Bunch.

Edited to add info that I didn't know, which was that she was a large part of the inspiration for Pepper Potts in Iron Man. According to comic book legend Kurt Busiek: "Davis played Schulzy, the wisecracking secretary not-so-secretly in love with her womanizing boss, on THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW, and Don Heck drew on that when adding Pepper to the Iron Man cast."

Rik Mayall of The Young Ones, Bottom, and Drop Dead Fred.

He was pure manic comic energy. In his role as Rick, he skewered the hypocrisies of politically oriented poets so effectively that he probably saved me from embarrassing myself more than once when I went that route.

I'd never seen anything with him in it that I knew of, and I didn't recognize his name. But I clicked on his "trending" on Facebook out of curiosity and the first photo that greeted me my mind instantly went to the Drop Dead Fred poster. Not that 56 year old Mr. Mayall in the photo looked anything like he did on the poster of that movie, and all the headline summaries mentioned The Young Ones or Bottom but not some obscure, critically panned comedy from 23 years ago. But even though I didn't know the guys name and I've never even seen the movie, my mind made an instant connection. Weird.

Aw, I love her. But I hope she's reunited with Ossie somewhere. And 91 is a good run.

Patsy Byrne, another memorable presence from Blackadder.

Eli Wallach.

He lived a great long life, but he was my favorite part of my favorite cheesy movie (The Holiday) and I'm sad.

He wasn't on my radar until I watched Baby Doll a few years ago. Sad, but at least he lived a long life.

Meshach Taylor, best known as Anthony Bouvier on Designing Women, died. Sixty-seven is too young to go. Cancer sucks.

I LOVED him on that show. He made me laugh and laugh.

Anthony was such a great character, especially when talking about his "unfortunate incarceration" and dealing with the neverending antics of Suzanne and Bernice.

I'd read a few days ago that his situation had gotten much worse and that his family didn't expect him to last much longer.  I guess he and Dixie Carter are having a reunion now.

So bummed, loved him on The Rockford Files and Murphy's Romance, and then saw him in The Americanization of Emily and realized what a dreamboat he was. That latest anecdote from The Notebook director also had me in stitches, in response to Gosling wanting to do an accent and coordinate his performance with Garner. "Jim Garner doesn't DO accents kid." Hee. Sigh, RIP.
