I still love Branson. I mean I don't know if the whole internet is hating on him or just ONTD but I don't think << hes being that OTT or crazy. I think its been presented that Sybil does love him but she is too scared to act on it and he recognizes that. >>

I love Matthew/Mary and I think Matthew is going to be << walking by the Christmas special >>

Oh I love Branson too.
It's good to know that there is someone else who ships Matthew/Mary.

The show makes me feel like I am watching a panto at times. The baddies are so bad and I expect someone to twirl their mustache.

I liked Branson more last season. It's not that I dislike him and Sybil together, I want to ship them, but >>they've had the same conversation for the past five episodes now. I think they do care for each other, but each repetition makes it seem less convincing. More covert courting, less talk, please.

Even though I knew that William was going to be toast, I was still surprised by how sad it was.

Daisy has apparently never looked in that shiny, shiny silver, and doesn't know she was aiming way out of her league.

I will always love Branson and Sybil, both individually and together, BUT I NEED THEM TO MAKE OUT ALREADY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. The writers are so very, very cruel.

This has gotten so ridiculously soapy, I LOVE IT. I mean,
Spoiler:
I love it!

I think by next season we'll see Carson's evil twin or something. He'll have a goatee, natch.

Yes, the problem with Sybil/Branson is that they've been having the same conversation over and over again and it's been 4 years (!?!) if you follow the timeline of the series (where time fliiiieees by). That does stretch the imagination a bit.

I'm concerned about Robert though.
Spoiler:

I can't wait for the Matthew scenes next week. The previews did look exciting!

This show is ridiculous at times but oh so delicious.

I cannot believe that next week is already the finale. Where will I get my costume drama fix after it's gone? SO.MANY.EMOTIONS.

The scene with Matthew

made me cringe so much, but I still enjoyed the episode. I still wish it was a tad more grounded like season 1 was.

Matthew Crawley, you are such a drama llama. That was some serious emo grandstanding, though of course, he was allowed to be devastated. Just a tad over the top.

Robert was just killing me. I liked that character so much last year, but

My work colleague and I were talking about the 2nd season today, and our general consensus was that overall it has been a letdown. The main issue has been timeline related - 6 years have passed since the first episode. This Mary/Matthew and Anna/Bates dramas have been going on for over half a decade each! Why does Daisy still look (and act) like a naive teenager? Why is Thomas still around? I mean yes, keep the character around as he's good to hate, but in the real world, surely he would've moved on to bigger and better things?

We were joking that the Christmas special will probably cover all of the 1920s, and the end of season 3 will be in the middle of the Depression. And Mary and Matthew will still be drama llamas.

The timeline bugs me too. It just seems so drawn out. Though, as my mom was pointing out, the war did put things off kilter for many years. People were putting off changes until the end of the war. Fair enough, but I do wish they had started the first season closer to the beginning of the war.

Less than fifty days until I am sitting in front of the tv, having a stroke. Serious Matthew Crawley. SERIOUSLY.

I started following Dan Stevens on Twitter, and he posts random pictures. They got cupcakes with the faces of all the characters on it. It led to this picture with the caption: Whose face should I eat?

Well now, I thought my Momo was prone to the aul dramatics but it seems young Matthew Crawley got the same memo about being over the top at funerals! "She died of a broken heart!" She did in her arse, you muppet!
Spoiler:
And I'm sorry but Dr Clarkson does not come off as competent.
Spoiler:

The drama was off the charts -
Spoiler:
I nearly had the vapours! Plot points dealt with by having someone come in and say "Oh Carson, wasn't it awful the way such and such ended up". The Dowager getting all the best lines - well, that one is justified, it's Maggie Smith and she rocks. I mean, if this was set in Albert Square or on Coronation Street, I'd be watching something else. But put them in period costumes and let me cheer and hiss at the screen as applicable and I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!!!
