Oh dear. I didn't even get halfway through the first letter, I was cringing in secondhand embarrassment and couldn't go on.

I would love to see some kind of experiment where these types of overinvested fans got the tables turned on them, Candid Camera-style. Like, if people just charged up to them and told them it was OBVIOUS that their marriage was a fake just from their body language, etc. Or that they didn't love their child or their child wasn't theirs and [crazy person in front of them] can JUST TELL.

? I thought she was SamnDean/J2 cray who is pissed at the photo for being a fuck you to SamnDean/J2, and it was staged as a sop to destiel fans, because in no way could Mischa/Jensen actually be *friends*, they only did that to fuck with her specifically.

I have hard time laughing at some of SPN crazy especially this girl, the level of actual delusion is just so...complete, her belief that she does have a personal one to one relationship with J2 via con stalking, and that they had offered her "morale support", that Jared pulled her back from the brink with a hashtag aimed directly at her? Having to leave fandom over her emotional distress? Oh honey, please please please have a therapist, and if you don't get one. I mean she is still not at wallpapered room of Jared levels, but it's a short jump away..
It sounded in the letter like she was saying that this pic of Jensen and Misha was posted to "give hope" but I'll be real honest here and say I didn't read all that closely. They all kind of make my skin crawl.

I'm having a sudden flashback to 1978, when Les McKeown quit the Bay City Rollers and for a couple of weeks I thought the world was coming to an end.

My coworker has a 16 year-old stepdaughter who loves 1D. My coworker said that night her stepdaughter was reading her some tweets about Zayn leaving and her daughter was all, "These people are nuts." And apparently there was a hashtag #CutForZayn and girls were actually cutting themselves to get him to come back to the band. The hades?! My coworker knew her daughter would be fine and not one of the crazy ones, but regardless she was still relieved to hear her say that those people are out of their minds.

I shouldn't even be shocked, but wow, that is extreme and frightening. I really hope that the cutting campaign has stopped and that no one hurt themselves even more than they intended.

I saw an article that mentioned that some fans were trying to raise $67 million to buy out the band's management contract, which is a hell of a lot better than what I did when Geri Haliwell left the Spice Girls.

Poor Cassie Clare. Trouble just seems to follow her no matter what she does!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, how her shit stories manage to keep getting published in the first place, never mind getting second chances in film and television I'll never know. (And yes, I did read the first few books because I won't trash anything I haven't personally read or seen but I stopped then because I couldn't take anymore of them or the people in them).

I went up to her at a really small con 7-8 years ago (so Mortal Instruments was out, selling well, but not a HUUUUGE thing yet) and after a panel I went up to her (small con, everyone was chill, she was the opposite of mobbed) and told her that when I was in college I really loved the Very Secret Diaries because they made me laugh at a time when I really needed it. She visibly could not wait to get away from me and was barely surface polite. So, thanks, lady.

A pal of mine was kind enough to share some ridiculous SPN wank with me:

"The guy who plays Cole is apparently INSANE and I'm really bored right now so buckle up:

This all started a week or two ago when he was on twitter giving his opinion on psychiatric drugs (which is that you should never ever use them unless you've exhausted every other option first). He got some pushback, but all of it seemed civil to me. He repeated "I am a Marine" in his responses like 15 times, as if that makes him an authority on everything.

The next day the Charleston shooting happened. He made a tweet about it and said, in his tweet, "I understand hate, I got a lot of it last night". ???????? !!!!!!!!! Because people disagreeing with you on twitter is comparable to being gunned down in a hate crime. People flipped out. He claimed that it wasn't just disagreement, but that someone sent him a death threat and also threatened his dogs, but if this happened it wasn't on twitter bc no one can find it. He eventually deleted the Charleston tweet and replaced it with something much more neutral/less selfish.

Fast forward to last night. He comes on twitter and tags Misha in a tweet that says "I think it's so disappointing that some of @mishacollins's fans are so hateful". Of course this causes massive drama. He keeps repeating that he's a Marine and will not be talked disrespectfully, and says he loves Misha and thinks he deserves to know how his fans are acting. He starts blocking (very reasonable) people left and right and says he's making a list of them all that he will give to Misha and to con runners so they can be banned from cons. This is when I went to bed lmao.

This morning I woke up and the whole Misha mess is deleted from his twitter, and instead there are a series of messages that a 12 year old boy might write if he hacked someone's twitter, calling the Cole actor a *ag, saying he's going to fuck him, threatening his dogs, putting up his phone number. None of these have been deleted, then at the top is a tweet from him saying he was hacked along with a screenshot of the report he's writing about it lmao. I really, really think he was never hacked. The whole Misha portion of the convo sounded just like him, and he was apparently private messaging people that whole time, and unblocked a couple people after a private convo he had. Also, no one in this fandom would use *ag as an insult, this is like the most pro-gay fandom lmao. You know who would use that as a go-to horrible insult? A 40 year old ex-Marine. Everyone who was blocked last night is still blocked."

And apparently another actor has been dating multiple fans without them knowing it and one of them girls posted pictures of herself with the actors on tumblr, exposing himself. Crazy.

This a very, very minor case of crazy, but given that's about CREED, the mostly almost forgotten 90s band, it made me laugh:

The upcoming movie Creed needs to be renamed so TruFans of Scott Stapp's masterpieces can find online info more efficently

The movie CREED about the son of Rocky Balboa's deceased trainer's son, is making it difficult, if not impossible, for the still-vital online Creed fanbase to exchange thoughts and discussion regarding band developments, song interpretation, rumors, non-erotic fanfiction, and deeper insights into the expanded Creed universe. MGM has completely disrespected the Creedmunity by using the name of the still-popular band for their non-Creed related movie and have been stifling conversation by flooding social media hashtags and searches with non-music Creed discussion. MGM should have consulted Creed experts and online leaders before titling this movie. The Creedmunity will not be silenced.

The bolded was my favorite part. They also helpfully provide alternate titles and express their faith that MGM marketing team can make those work instead.

Now I'm kinda dying to find out what the "Creedmunity" discussions are like.

The fact that they DIDN'T use an exclamation point on that statement makes me laugh even more. The Creedmunity will not be silenced. Period. So quietly threatening, lol.

I won't lie, I am dying to see what Creed fan fiction would entail. I didn't even know band fan fiction was a thing.

I did a search and only found Assassin's Creed fan fiction. I did find this link, though, which states that the whole thing was a hoax. I'm sad.

Ha, that makes me happy on several levels. A. that this "creedmunity" horror doesn't exist and B. that the person who brought this link to my attention with her righteous anger over it was wrong. (In case it's not clear, it's a person I can't stand but have a trainwreck fascination with her obnoxious FB feed.) Win-win!!

Ohhhhhh, grrrrl...

LOL, I am blissfully naive in the world of fan fiction in general, it's something I've never really understood (no judgment on anyone who likes it/writes it, etc., just not something I've ever gotten into!!)

I do not have a specific favorite band, I tend to like a song or two from lots of people.

But just to provide a challenge and because I am now morbidly curious, does fan fiction exist for Gary Puckett and the Union Gap*?

*An inside joke between me and my sister because I have a truly bizarre love of this band, despite finding so many of their songs deeply troubling in their basic messaging re: women/girls. And that being said, I'm kinda disturbed as to what fan fiction for this band would be like...

gay porn.

Sadly, I actually have no idea what non-erotic fanfiction for a band would be like. Do they actually have . . . plots? About . . . writing songs . . . and they DON'T have sex? My mind is blown!

Replace 'this' with 'any'.

Then replace 'band' with 'subject'.

A superficial Googling of Gary Puckett and Fanfiction produces this curiosity: https://twitter.com/gpuckettsoreal/status/70684464870727681

I will confess I was thinking 'please let it be One Direction please let it be One Direction'. The sheer volume is only surpassed by Buffyslash.
And maybe Potterporn. And Wincest.

Aren't we interesting as a species?
