Yeah, I knew that there must have been stationery somewhere, but... that's it?

I'm not familiar with Bond's bedroom, ahem, techniques, but that's rather weak, innit? I mean, in Casino Royale, he was all romantic with Vesper (well, as romantic as 007 can be, I guess), and suddenly he's all callous and wink wink, nudge nudge?

Ok...

Thanks for the info!

It is weaksauce, certainly. But I'll give it to him - she was his first after Vesper.

Hey, after watching QOS again (but for the first time in its entirety: I always caught the last 2/3s on TV), I have another question :

Does Agent Fields show up dressed only in boots and that raincoat? It looks like it's all she's wearing, and when Bond tells her they're going to a party, she says very pointedly that she has nothing to wear.

If that is a shout out to the old Bond movies, it's rather awkwardly done : it just comes out of nowhere. Then again, I think QOS is not known as a masterpiece...

My theory about why he seduces Fields is that he's acting on autopilot. Seducing random women is something he can do without thinking about it, and considering it's only a week since Vesper died, he's doing his best not to think or feel at all. So he goes through the motions, sleeps with her, and she ends up dead.

I'm sure Strawberry had *something* on under the raincoat, and that her comment about not having anything to wear is simply a reference to something party-appropriate.

I wish she'd had more to do. But I have something of a crush on Gemma Arterton. God help me, I sat through Clash of the Titans for her and I'm probably going to sit through Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, too.

Yeah, Gemma is pretty. And it is true they did not give her much to do.

I rewatched that part, and if she's wearing anything other than her trench, it's very skimpy. But I realised I am indeed too much of a neophyte in Bond-age : of course, if whoever sent Fields told her what Bond's weakness is (or should be, considering it's D. Craig's incarnation we're dealing with), she went with "easily undressed".

I saw Skyfall this week and even after thinking on it for a few days, I can safely say I have a new favourite Bond film. I loved the whole thing. Loved the story, the characters, the acting, the photography (seriously, that was like cinematography porn), the music, the production design, EVERYTHING. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me clasp my hands together in glee. I think it may have been my favourite movie of 2012.

The documentary Everything or Nothing is on Netflix. Well trod ground and connery is absent, but has some good footage, emotion and does look at some of the turbulent moments.

M's name revealed! I knew it was revealed somewhere, I just couldn't remember where, or what. But I did call it, and now my day is made.

Okay, okay, I admit I should have gone back and watched it to check for myself. But I just didn't enjoy the movie the first time around, I couldn't make myself watch it again. Still, I knew it was in there somewhere.

Very well-done 50 year tribute to James Bond. Fan-made.

You can nitpick some of the choices, but overall this was very good.

Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes officially doing Bond 24.

The bad news is that we have to wait 2 more years for it.

I was so pleased when I heard they'd both be back, because I absolutely loved Skyfall. It was 'on demand' on Sky last week and I took the opportunity to watch it again. I'd forgotten how breathtaking the cinematography was. I know the Daniel Craig films have been different all round, but it's really refreshing and engaging to watch a Bond film that gives actual depth to the character, makes him a living breathing person with some serious personal problems rather than just some kind of boy's own fantasy figure. After all, it makes sense that someone's got to be pretty messed up to commit their whole life to courting death like that.

Which probably means Roger Deakins will be back too.

I have no idea what that person is saying - I get lost in fashion beyond anything more complex than sleeve-length and whether or not something has buttons - but I love that someone is out there writing fashion criticism related to Bond.

I've been rewatching the James Bond films in order on Amazon Prime, and it is interesting to read these posts having just watched a certain film. It mentions things I picked up on, but also ties together Bond's fashion in a way that never occurred to me. Also I want to go dressed as Solitaire one Halloween. Her outfits were INSANE.

Teaser for SPECTRE

So it seems they're implying that Andrew Bond was a member of SPECTRE?

And I'm not sure - it's hard to tell under the crazy hair and cataracts but is the hermit Bond hands the ring to Mr. White of Quantum from Casino Royale? I read that the actor was returning, so it probably is, but he's barely recognizable (which would be kind of the point, I think).

Yep, it's Mr. White under all that hair. Looks like he must have gone into hiding to escape SPECTRE after failing in his mission in Quantum of Solace.

I must say, I am very intrigued by the idea of Bond's family somehow being tied to SPECTRE.

I'm glad they are going back to the overarching Quantum/Spectre as an antagonist, Goldfinger and Skyfall being the 3rd movies diversion.

That said I am jumping up and down at anticipation in this.
