Thanks!   I tried to figure out how to de-funkify my quote in the "Celebrity Dumb Quotes" thread, but I was too irritated with Melissa Etheridge to think straight.

I too am having the quote issue! Thanks for addressing, very aggravating.

The good news: The quote thing is fixed, and you can type under the quote box, hooray! Thanks guys.

The weird news: There is now a selection of pictures of weapons listed along the side of the post window for us to include. Okay! (I suspect it's a relic from the Snarker Games.)

Is it just me, or is the Search function relatively useless? Anything I search gives "nothing found".

It seems to have been that way for a long time. I've never really gotten it working that I recall.

Is there something posted in the Facebook thread here that could cause the site to freeze? I can get to every thread on the board except that one, it just keeps freezing up when I click on it.

Not that I can see? There are no graphics or anything? If someone else reports this we can start comparing notes and seeing if there are similarities in your setups.

Are the random ad links in posts new? I had not noticed them before, and they are annoying.

Don't "yay" yet: I didn't do anything and I still can't see them myself, even with a non-admin account. They might come back...

That only happened on my work computer/browser, so I think it was malware. IDEK.

Yeah I managed to have a weird browser plug-in enabled. So my fault, but is fixed now.

Having an issue, but only on my work computer: I visit the site and everything is already marked as read. This happened both yesterday and today. At home it doesn't seem to be an issue. I'm using Chrome both places, Windows at work and Mac at home. I have AdblockPlus and Flashblock (on both). Anyone else?

This just happened to me too. When I came to the site a second ago, it showed that there were a number of unread posts, then as soon as I clicked on this topic, all those markers disappeared. Also running Chrome, with AdBlock.

I think it's a Chrome thing then. It happened again this morning, but now I'm in Firefox (also with ABP and Flashblock installed) and it's not happening.

Chrome is starting to irritate me lately. At home (on the Mac) I have problems with embedded videos in basically every format now. It used to just be Vimeo, but yesterday it couldn't deal with an embedded YOUTUBE video for pete's sake. I keep Safari open at home in case there's a page with a video I want to watch. Firefox got so incredibly bloated that I couldn't deal with it anymore, but maybe 900 versions later it's gotten better.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. I suppose when I do Snarkfest at work I'll use FF for the time being.

Thanks, p_p. I agree with Instant Monkeys that it's probably a Chrome thing. It only happened that one time for me, and hasn't happened in the other few times I've come to the site since then.

Update: My home computer (Mac) has now fallen victim to the No New Posts Ever disease. (Coincidentally enough, I think it was this weekend that I finally rebooted my laptop, meaning Chrome could update.) So I'm trying to remember only to load SF on Safari or Firefox at home. So, yeah. It is definitely Chrome, and definitely super annoying. If it is indeed something in the latest Chrome release then hopefully Google will fix it.

ETA: I tried it in the same thread and it did it to me too. Apparently we have some spam protection. (I'm not inclined to disable it, though, even if I could work out how.)
