Yeah, I'm with the Chastain people too. This is actually verbatim my opinion — a lot of nice dresses, but only that one made me sit up.

Gwyneth's dress was amazing, too - so dramatic.

The only dresses I really liked were Natalie Portman's, Michelle Williams', and Octavia Spencer's. Not a good dress year for me.

See, I didn't like Natalie's dress at all. It seemed so young, and like a great garden party bridesmaids dress or something, but not luxe enough for the Oscars.

Me either. It did look young but mostly I thought it was really boring. A bolder pattern might have perked it up but as it was, I thought it was a snoozer.

I loved Penelope Cruz's dress. The colour was gorgeous, and while I normally don't go for those types of gowns, she just made the whole look seem effortless.

Out of all the white dresses, I really liked Milla Jovovich's - the pop of red lipstick and simple accessories made it of my favourites.

I actually liked Gwyn's dress with the cape better than I did without it. I thought the cape was kind of silly, but it hid the padded shoulders on the dress. I loathe those enormous shoulders. The rest of Gwyn's dress looked very nice on her body - it accentuated her slimness and height and gave her a waist.

Octavia Spencer looked stunning. As the Fug Girls put it, that's the way your Oscar gown is supposed to fit!

Vanessa Hudgens is doing her part to ensure that she wins Fug Madness again next year.

And I know that as a 30-something, everything is supposed to feel this way, but I SWEAR, I don't remember Coachella being so full of douchey hipster celebs even like 5 years ago.

So, not a big fan of Rodario Dawson's Nerd Prom dress. Putting aside the "here are my boobs" issue, the shininess of the dress looks really cheap.

I like the color, if not the shininess, but she really needed to go up a size. Maybe two. If you're going to wear a shiny material, you have to be ready for when it stretches in funky ways.

She actually manages to make herself look chubby. Because that dress is too small for her. And possibly the boob attack would be less conspicuous if the rest of the dress fit better. But why would you even wear that much boobage to a White House event?

Looks like a terrible boob-job. Other than that, the dress is okay.

Sweet fancy Moses, Kristen Stewart is wearing one of the ugliest dresses I've seen in a long time. And considering the Met Gala was a week ago, that's saying something.

It's a Marchesa, of course. The worst is that somewhere in there is a real showstopper, but they appear to have uglied it up with their typical efficiency.

And for some reason, because I guess it wasn't QUITE fussy enough, the bodice of the dress has leggings. It's like she's wrapped in loose Ace bandages.

I think they both look like crap, Kristen definitely moreso than Charlize; not even she can make granny panties work, so please fashion people: let go of the granny panties look. If Charlize can't do it, it can't be done.
