But in the Parks and Recreation timeslot? NBC giveth and it taketh away.

Oh, actually, reading it, that doesn't sound so bad for P&R, so great!

Thank ya Jesus! I was just freaking out because some NBC hack had said it would be back in March and yet we still hadn't heard with only a week of February to go, so yay! Although still in the time slot from hell, so boo.

I need to go watch some Troy and Abed in the Morning in celebration.

You know, I'm starting to think that Community and Parks and Rec should just rotate in that timeslot all next year, too. Meaning every other week, you can get a new Community OR P&R, and both shows will be somewhat protected.

A roundtable discussion with Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, and writer Megan Ganz.

Loved this. They all had interesting things to say about the women on the show, they're all smart and funny, and apparently Brown's nickname for Jacobs is "Stinker," which just delights me.

That was awesome. Thanks so much for sharing. I even got tears thinking about them being on the Community set for the last time. God, I love this show so much.

Ha I just read that too, and it is really nice piece not just on Community,bu about minority representation in Hollywood/comedy. I had no idea Harmon had three women on staff, but adds to his relative awesome. MARCH 15TH WOOT.

For three more seasons and a movie.

If you have one of your cast win an Oscar, you HAVE to renew the show right? Right?!

A community preview from The Soup. Bit of a casting spoiler in there
Spoiler:
John Hodgman

Wouldn't having a show with a cult following be preferable to NBC than something that without a doubt that will be DOA during the fall like that Bossum Buddies knock off?

The NY Times does a good piece on the show, its struggles, and why the largest part of the audience might not be measurable in traditional ways.

That was great. I missed this show terribly.

Is it just me, though, or is Joel McHale looking even more thin?

Joel does look really thin, but uh, still HOTT.

"It's like a thought....with another thoughts hat on!"

"Nut up and die alone."

Chevy and his trouser bench. "Please call ALL the ambulances."

Shirley's high pitched voice is her sexy voice. Hee.

"Shut up Leonard, those teenage girls you play ping-pong with are doing so ironically." That may be favorite shut up Leonard yet!

Loved the meta joke about how not hard it is to get the humor on this show. "Prove it, Ding Dong! There are a LOT of layers to this, it's almost too conceptual to follow." A very solid and welcome return for my show, and yeah I think the CC pick up and Conan's description of the show on his site, speaks to how much those in the comedy community really LOVE this show and want it to succeed.

Hee I totally felt Pierce w/soft serve machine, even putting it in dish gives me anxiety, much less trying to form a spiral on a cone. Ha!

Britta and Troy were the two different versions of Michael Jackson.

I just...I can't. This show. How does it do this to me every week? I can't wait to watch again.

THAT was enjoyable. Jeff throwing a fit because he didn't win Most Handsome Boy was priceless. And of course the Jeff is a taller, hotter Ryan Seacrest jokes (is Ryan Seacrest really known for being hot? I know him for being tiny, able to bring a complicated reality show in on time, a fascinatingly shameless showbiz whore, and possibly an android) were very in-jokey, but I loved it because I am easy like Sunday morning. Throwing in half-naked Joel McHale DID NOT HURT. His Hulk face made me laugh so hard.

I also laughed my ass off at Abed as Jamie Lee Curtis. I see it, I really do.

It was just enough Pierce for me, too. "Hey, Fat Burt Reynolds, right?" "I'll take it!"

They got J.P Manoux (Vice Principal Hackett, NotMoby/Fauxby) on the show! Before Community, I'd always confused him with Jim Rash.

Britta as white MJ was perfect.

"the only emotion you're eliciting from me is hatred for Renee Zellwiger."

That was just on the edge of being too broad, but I've been to some pretty tasteless Bar Mitzvahs.

At first I thought Abed was one of those backup dancers in the Robert Palmer "Addicted to Love" video. It wasn't until Troy's explanation that I caught on.

Okay that was definitely as Abed worried, crazy, dark, and inaccessible, but I still really liked it a lot. In fact the more I think on it the more I love it.

"I'm an *exceptional* narcissist." Hee. "You guys need to stop intervening. You seriously have a problem."

Going to the Jeff Seacrest well will always make me laugh. And a Pierce Eh-Bed too. Add in sad Hulk music and it's a full on win. Even though I wasn't a fan of the Ego Apple cut aways, Joel playing it more unhinged every time was great. Damn McHale really did look smokin in his aviator glasses, I would board beefcake airways.

I really do like how much better they're handling the dark material this year. The schism between Troy/Abed, the paralleling of Jeff/Abed "breakdowns" that I still trace back to the My Dinner with Andre episode, and getting to see a more humbled and human Pierce. Pierce of last year would have barged into the bar mitzvah insisting he was Burt Reynolds, instead he capitulates about being Brando, possibly under "Fat". I found his few scenes incredibly touching.

I'll take a lovely layered character piece like this episode over say Mixology Certificate, because at least this one still remembered to be funny, and it found a way to use Change/Dean Pelton/Pierce as just enough color around the edges without disrupting the main theme of the episode.
