Reign

Anyone still watching it? I am unexpectedly entertained by the show, even though it doesn't even pretend to be anything but historical fanfic. Maybe that's why I like it. Megan Follows is so much fun as Catherine.

I really enjoy it. My only problem is the actor playing Bash has creeped me out extremely hardcore since the Tudors so I am just not into any scene about him.

Unless hes with Lola or Kenna. They have good chemistry.

Catherine is easily the best part. Though I will say Adelaide Kane stands up to Megan Followes nicely.

Ha, I think he's not as weird looking as Francis, so I automatically like him better. But that's not saying much, because I think both of them are mostly blah looking.

Everyone at twop hates Bash with a passion for the most part. Here's a special piece of melodrama I found:

I just can't wait to see how Mary is going to get back on [Francis'] good graces. I'm so glad he told her that, "just because in your minds you're saving me, you think I'll forgive you for this, you're wrong." He's right, the prophecy didn't kill him. She did. You can kill someone emotionally. They don't have to be buried.

Him and Lola would be cool. Kenna is too dumb. it cracked me up yesterday when Kenna said "the Queen really tried to kill me!" and Henry was like, "no one cares."

Yeah, Adelaide Kane is pretty decent. I'm surprised because in the promos she looked extremely dead-eyed and wooden and creeped me out, but she's doing well.

Oh I like francis. I think he's adorable and like he and Mary's cute little thing.

I don't hate any of the youngins. But it amuses me to see people flip out that he's not in 2 episodes. At least the Machine from Fringe didn't wipe out everyone's memory of him for a couple of episodes, heh

This show is like my Pringles. I can't stop it.

lol, I like this show because of/despite the silliness. I mean, if anyone still gets angry about historical accuracy at this point of the show that's their own fault. I am mostly here because of Megan Follows, and I think it's pretty obvious the writers love writing for her.

Verbatim conversation I had out loud with myself: "OMG is Douchebeard going to leave Susan from Narnia?!? Is he? He can't. Come on. OH MY GOD STOP. YOU ARE THIRTY-TWO YEARS OLD."

Bash kneeling and Francis rushing up to raise him up killed me. I watched that moment like a eleventy billion times.

Henry's death was a little rushed, they shoulda made him getting a spike in the eye the cliffhanger, but maybe they wanted a more solid ending just in case it wasn't renewed.

I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year and I've started watching Reign on Netflix when I'm working on it. (I need to have something on in the background when I'm working on anything. The radio isn't enough, I need to have something on TV as well. I studied for my college finals with the Star Wars movies on in the background).

It's completely bonkers. The ladies dresses are completely wrong for the era, though I do like the majority of them I will admit. I'm nearly at the end of season one and Mary and Francis have gotten together, broken up, gotten together, broken up again, and then gotten married. And that's not even taking into account her saying she'd marry his bastard brother and all the shenanigans from Megan Follows who is the best. The bit where she and Henry had to work together after the Duchess fell out his window was so good.

I suppose what I'm saying is that if I were in my teens, this would be one of my favourite shows because it has romance, intrigue, kings and queens, marriages (I did really like Mary's wedding dress), castles, and it's loosely based on historical facts.

It's very fun. I mean, this is basically historical fantasy--when you've got characters named Bash, Kenna, Greer, and Lola in 1550-whatever, and they dance to string-quartet versions of Sam smith songs, well, like, I guess the necklines of the gowns are the least of the problems. I LOVE the costumes in and of themselves. They are gorgeous. Megan Follows continues to be the best.

I got bored during the second season, but I still stuck around for Megan Follows. Now that they have finally killed off Francis I am excited for next week but I hope we don't follow Mary to Scotland too soon. Or if we do, I hope we still catch up with whatever Catherine's doing.
