Just got a Christmas jazz cd from Target and I'm in heaven. It's a compilation of holiday music from jazz artists and it is so pretty.

Also, a new Christmas CD from acapella group Rockapella and I'm on cloud 9.

The Holly and the Ivy by Kate Rusby. This is my new favorite.

The entire time I was decorating our Christmas tree I had Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo stuck in my head.

Well, since it's that time of year again, I compiled all my holiday classics into one gigantic playlist. I'm diggin' "A Pirate Christmas" by Captain Dan & the Scurvy Crew, and Jimmy Pardo's version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside". JP is one of the funniest men alive.

On a more sentimental note, "One More Sleep 'Til Christmas" by The Muppets and "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys are tearing me up (I know that song isn't technically a Christmas song, but since it reminds me so much of "Love Actually", I'm including it.)

I look forward to hearing Nat King Cole's glorious voice crooning Caroling, Caroling on my radio.

Nat King Cole's voice melts me any time, but hearing him sing Christmas music is sheer heaven.

His is one of my fave voices ever, and he elevates Christmas music to a whole 'nother level with it!

I was making a holiday music playlist on Spotify for my grandma, and she requested "all the James Taylor you can find." Awww.

Your grandma knows what Spotify is? Already she's awesome. (I didn't know that site existed until I noticed it on Facebook.) She totally deserves a mellowed out James Taylor Xmas mix, dude!

Me too. Plus, my baby was throwing a little fit and I started that video and danced with her in my arms and she calmed right down (until the video ended), so I'm pretty sure it's made of magic.

ETA: Seriously, we are 3-for-3 so far with that song. Good thing it's one of my faves.

I've been noticing that there are a whole bunch of new hideous Christmas songs out there, some originals and some really terrible remakes of otherwise decent songs. I've been avoiding the radio as a result, so thanks for that link!

Anyone else currently digging Kelly Clarkson's holiday CD? I feel like it is exactly the type of holiday album I'd expect from her - a mixture of pop, country, and standards. (I have to admit that I might like the original pop songs the best, just because they are fun to bop around to. "Underneath the Tree" has been stuck in my head for three days.)

I've listened to samples on iTunes and I'm thinking I might buy it. I like Kelly's voice anyway and her spin on a few of the classics are really nice.
