So the universe has decided I'll have to subscribe to Netflix. Oh well.

Re: Arrested Development
I know. I thought maybe I'd give it up in the next year, but apparently not. Damn you, Reed Hastings!
I'm still ambivalent on this whole revival concept. The show was perfect as it was, and I really don't think it can be that good again. But I'd love to be proven wrong.

Re: Arrested Development
I'm a little nervous about it too, especially because once again, none of the actors are committed yet. I mean, they've all expressed interest, but there is still nothing on paper. And the original proposal (this summer?) was that each episode would focus on only one character, so the actors wouldn't interact with each other. That's not Arrested Development, really.
But! It is in my Top 5 shows ever, so if things go well, then I will be very happy indeed.

Pictures from the set as the cast starts filming. Nothing spoilery.

Here's an article detailing some of the dirty jokes they got away with.
Seaward will always be my favourite.

IT'S THE FINAL COUNT DOWN! Sorry, I'm super excited for the return. I love this Previously, On Arrested Development chart. I have company coming in for my brother's graduation this weekend and wondering how quickly I can get them to leave on Sunday so that I can start watching the episodes.

Didn't even mention Tobias' business cards or all the incest jokes.

Well they do touch on Les Cousins Dangereaux in George-Michael's list and Maeby's possible non-biological family status under hers.

Happy Arrested Development Day to the fans, and to those who are hoping we shut up about it soon!
Anyone watched it yet? I've watched around five eps, and I'm finding the quality uneven so far. I'm hoping once I've seen the whole thing and maybe rewatched, it will flow better.

If "Community" has October 19 as their rally day, maybe AD should adopt Cinco de Quattro.

I watched about half of them, but this is almost as great a second act as Rifftrax for me.
The ensemble is missed, but they still have the punry, the sneaky dirty jokes and throwaway sight gags.

Re: Arrested Development
I loved it. I don't think I would have loved it as much if I thought this is the last we were seeing of the Bluths, but since I fully expect a movie to happen, I was very pleased.
It was interesting seeing how some characters work much better as central characters than others. I really didn't need two George Sr. episodes (even though I loved Mary Lynn Rajskub and John Slattery), I didn't care for Lindsay's first episode but I liked the second, and I thought GOB and George Michael worked well as central characters.
It was also very obvious which cast members had the most scheduling conflicts, as there was not nearly enough Buster or Lucille for my taste (or Maeby, but she's always the overlooked one anyway).
Anustart. "Daddy needs to get his rocks off!" Altitude/Attitude magazine. Halliburton Teen. OMG. I love this show.
I was also amused how Kristen Wiig as a younger Lucille was doing a real impression of Jessica Walter while Seth Rogen as a younger George Sr. was basically Seth Rogen in a wig and glasses.

Re: Arrested Development
We're about half-way through, and I'm also finding it a bit uneven. And a bit ... depressing. I like my Bluths to succeed on some level. There's also not enough Gob or Buster for my liking so far. But Kristen Wiig as Young Lucille is genius, as is Young Barry. (I thought for a minute that was Josh Groban playing him, but apparently, it's Henry Winkler's son.) And I keep waiting to see who else is going to show up as a guest star.

ITA. Everyone's story seemed sad to me, and there wasn't enough funny to compensate for that.

Re: Arrested Development
I am loving Kristen Wiig. It felt really odd at first, given how we've already seen Jessica Walters play Lucille at the same basic points in time - but given the inescapable fact that nobody is as young as they used to be, I think it works once the groove gets going.

Re: Arrested Development
There have been complaints about all the guest stars, but I for one like that everyone is down to do this.

It took me a while to figure out Tobias' license plate.

- Spoiler:
- Shows what I know about musical theatre that I though Tommy Tune was Dr Drew playing a character and then George Chakaris.
I was worried we'd only get references to Clint Howard (after all Ron inexplicably left him out of the Da Vinci movies).
And Joel and Crow!
It took me a while to figure out Tobias' license plate.
