The Sing Off
I love this show, it's so much fun and I love the groups' takes on their song choices. I'm really looking forward to the superstar medleys next week.
Anyone else watching season 3? My current favorites are Vocal Point and Dartmouth Aires; there's just something about the big groups of college guys singing and dorkily dancing together that works for me. I like Pentatonix as well, but mostly due to the awesome guy who provides the beatboxing and most of the background sounds. Everyone else ranges from okay to meh. Delilah started strong, but now turn every performance into a power ballad. And I find Urban Method to be completely overrated.

Ooooh, me! Me! I'm watching!
My favorite is Afro Blue from Howard University. Their jazz riffs on the Kanye song "American Boy" a few weeks ago sealed the deal for me. I like Delilah, but they've been floundering the last few songs. Quite frankly, if they let that chick that sang lead on the Bruno Mars song "Grenade" keep singing lead, they might win me back. She is seriously good.

Ooh, I liked that performance by Afro-Blue as well. Everything that they had done before then hadn't really made an impact on me, but that was the first performance of theirs that really made me sit up and listen. I like their jazzy groove.

Re: The Sing Off
Just started watching Season 3 this weekend. My favorite is Pentatonix. I like that they manage to surprise me every episode and I just think it's incredible how big they sound, even though they're only 5 people.
Re: The Sing Off
Pentatonix are pretty amazing, and their main beatboxer is incredible. I think they've got the best odds of winning this season, although I wouldn't be opposed to the Dartmouth Aires taking it all, either. They're so much fun.
I really dislike Urban Method. I hate how they shoehorn rapping into most of their performances. It's like a breath of fresh air when they do a performance that is rap-free.

It's back for a two week music-fest! I have missed Ben Folds so much. *sniff*
Anybody else watching? I don't know that I have a favorite group yet, but three or four are definitely in the running.

I'm a day behind, but I really like this show. I love how Shaun just seems so thrilled to be there and that this is the best thing in the world. And I love Ben and how seriously he takes it and how respectful he is. I'm still feeling out Jewel, but she seems to be pretty good. It seems like she speaks last a lot of the time so there's not much to say.
I don't know that I have a favorite yet. I like Street Corner Renaissance and Vocal Rush - both ends of the age spectrum! And the bass singer for Home Free - dude. I mean, deep. I would love to hear him sing "Old Man River"; I know it's not his style, but anyone with a voice that deep should have to sing that song.

I'm rooting for Home Free, I love the bass singer.
If you want something surreal, Ben Folds did an album with William Shatner about 10 years ago, and a ballet company in Minneapolis choreographed it. It's called William Shatner's Gonzo Ballet.
Anyone else think "Vocal Adrenalin" instead of "Vocal Rush"? Just me, then?
