Re: James McAvoy
Love him, too. He's probably the only celebrity crush of mine that's still going strong after a few years! Probably in part because he never runs the risk of overexposure in the tabloids or onscreen. He's never in a glut of movies being released one after the other, usually it's a long wait from one to the next. Last thing I saw him in was The Conspirator. He's really good at American accents.

He just seems like such a humble and downright hilarious guy! I love how low-key he is, too. He keeps his private life as quiet as possible, and it's nice that he keeps a good balance between his professional/public career and personal matters.

Ha, I've totally been watching this old video of him on Craig Ferguson's show way too many times. I already love Craig Ferguson, but these two together are just adorable and the dueling Scottish accents are lovely.

LOVE HIM. He comes across as level-headed, cool and completely normal. Plus: pretty pretty eyes.

Looove him too. I wish I had something else to contribute to the conversation.

Re: James McAvoy
Sweet little interview mainly about Arthur Christmas. -That has Bill Nighy, James Broadbent, Imelda Staunton and Hugh Laurie as well, and, I just saw, MICHAEL PALIN! -I may go see it, despite being slightly older than its target group, I fear...

Welcome to the Punch trailer is up. Not sure about the movie. However, I wasn't sure I'd like James with a beard, given that it makes him look disturbingly like one of my cousins. This trailer laid that worry to rest. Still hot.

Man, I wish James McAvoy worked more. I think it's great that he took some time off when his baby was born but I love him and there was a period where there were all these cool movies he was supposed to be in and then he wasn't. Didn't he drop out of 50/50? I still haven't seen it, but I was excited about him doing something different and taking a step into the Apatow sphere would have been that. And I still mourn all the rumors around The Hobbit. Martin Freeman is perfect, but I think would have made a great Bilbo too.
OH, that reminds me, can they please please please turn the radio version of Neverwhere into a movie?

Hey y'all, here's a link to a photo spread McAvoy did for Esquire UK. Enjoy.

I don't know how, but he comes across very Scottish in those photos. Moreso than usual, I mean.

I saw the trailer for Trance (with Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel) at the theater today and got so excited because it looks thrilling and because it seems like forever since I actually watched any of his movies!

This is the year of McAvoy and Cumberbatch, right? Yay!

I saw him in Macbeth a couple of weeks ago. He was pretty darn fantastic. I was like less than ten feet from him and he was intense. Lots of bodily fluids intense.

Has anyone been listening to the Neverwhere radio play? One of the radio shows for my Kingdom of Loathing clan has been playing the episodes and it's really great. I could listen to his voice all day long!

It's very reminiscent of Trainspotting, somehow, isn't it?

God, that entire cast is awesome. McAvoy, in particular, has the best skeevy little smirk.

I'm really looking forward to it. Shame David Tennant had to drop out, though.

I saw "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" this morning at TIFF. It was so fantastic. I hope it gets a wide distribution. James McAvoy & Jessica Chastain have so much chemistry together. James McAvoy and Bill Hader, who plays his best friend, also make one entertaining duo to watch. I can't wait to see this movie again.

Re: James McAvoy
Thanks to the wonderful Internets, I managed to....acquire....an mp3 copy of this, and it was fantastic! My husband and I listened to it for five nights running while prepping dinner. Our favorite casting choice was Tony Head (fantastic), but everyone was great. It's funny because we both read the book waaaay back in the day, and thought the world-building was great, but Richard and Door were both kind of dull and uninvolving. Having Dormer and McAvoy play the roles made the characters MUCH more charming.Raksha wrote:Has anyone been listening to the Neverwhere radio play? I wish they'd just go ahead and film that production.

I would be interested in where to... acquire... a copy of that for myself.
