Entertainment Weekly
I've had my problems with it over the years, but I still read it every week. I just got the newest issue and am so delighted to see that they've added Libby Gelman-Waxner's "If You Ask Me" column. It was the best thing in "Premiere" back in the day.
Not sure I really buy Daniel Radcliffe as Entertainer of the Year, though.

I loved Libby Gelman-Waxner! It was the highlight of my Premiere magazine reading when I was in college and when a friend of mine was in Canada back in 1997, she bought me the Libby Gelman-Waxner book that had a collection of her previous columns. I still have it actually.
We can actually get Entertainment Weekly here now. It's nice that the newsagents are selling more than Woman's Weekly and every UK gossip magazine that's out there.

Re: Entertainment Weekly
Yeah, seeing that column sure took me back to when I had a Premiere subscription eons ago. I was happy to see Libby again!
Every time I renew my subscription for EW I keep thinking of all the death knell rumours for the last several years for the print edition. But it still keeps on going. Though I was interested to see the announcement this week for the ipad version.
And I was thrilled to see Amy Poehler writing about George R R Martin!

My cousin is a former writer for the magazine, so I will support the print magazine until the bitter end, whenever that may be. Plus, I still like getting new issues in the mail. It's the only magazine I still get. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like they've figured out how to be in the social/online space, and still be relevant in print somehow.

I was so tickled to see Libby Gelman-Waxner! I remember a lot of rumblings about EW possibly being in trouble, and I really hope adding Libby is a good sign.

I was very surprised to find myself charmed by the recent interview featuring KStew, RPattz, and Taylor Lautner that EW printed. They all seemed rather funny and self-effacing, which stunned me as I'd heard they're horrible and lifeless in TV interviews.

"Star Trek." WHATEVER!!! X-Philes invented shipping. I remember, like, the day it was invented. We used to use an apostrophe because it was short for relationshipper. 'Shipper. Oh, we were so cute back then with our punctuation and our plain text and our bitching about WebTV.
Star Trek did invent slash though. So that's pretty cool.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure I remember them writing about X-Files shippers back in the 90s, and they used the apostrophe. I remember it because I was like, "Wait, there are people other than me who want Mulder and Scully to get together?" It was an epiphany.

Heh, I remember having to use WebTV back in the day to keep up with my YahooGroups whenever I'd come home for break from college. I didn't have a computer at home and that was the only way I could keep up if I wasn't at an Internet cafe or the library.
Kids today. They can just read it all on their phone.

I think it's hilarious that they put the Wincest people out there to be mocked by the general EW-reading public, and I'm deeply relieved they didn't feel the need to mention all the fic about the actors that goes with it.

Yeah, Wincest is creepy enough, but at least the characters are fictional. That J-squared stuff about Jared and Jensen is just plain freaky. It's terrifying how much hatred their wives get and how badly their crazed fans believe that the guys are actually together and using their wives as beards or at least want to be together but are in denial.

Re: Entertainment Weekly
I saw a commercial for Revenge on ABC earlier this week and was very amused by the fact that all of the pull quotes for it either came from Entertainment Weekly or EW.com. No wonder it feels like the magazine and its website are shoving that show down my throat; according to the ad, it seems it's the only publication that is raving about it!

Re: Entertainment Weekly
I was hoping that once awards season ended, Entertainment Weekly would quit coming up with excuses to feature Bridesmaids and the cast in some way. Nope! There's an essay in the movies section of the latest issue about female-centered raunchy comedies that references the movie. The reference makes complete sense, but there's been such an overload of Bridesmaids pimpage from EW lately that even though I liked the movie, I'm incredibly tired of hearing about it. Give it a rest!

Re: Entertainment Weekly
Great. Three days after the season finale for "The Killing" aired, EW had an article called "'The Killing's Killer Speaks", complete with a photo so that you couldn't possibly miss whom they were talking about. Not all of us watched the finale the night it aired, assholes. Thanks so much for spoiling it for me.

Is the cast reunions issue out yet? I am, like, mesmerized by the photos online. I stared at the Clueless one for a good minute before I placed the random guy as Christian. CHRISTIAN!
So sad to see no Tai.

All three of the others seem to be thinking Howie's still a douche. I also did not recognize Daniel Stern.

Reading that Breckin Meyers still has a difficult time saying "Brittany [Murphy] was..." instead of "is" was really sad. I didn't know they'd been good friends while working as kids. She's been gone for 3 years now, and it's still weird for him to speak of her in the past tense. So awful.

That issue was great. Damn, Breckin Meyers is one handsome guy now.
I loved how the kids were approached and asked for current slang - I had no idea that Clueless was the first movie to use "going postal".
