Re: Celebrity Good Quotes

According to tumblr, this is a story Tom Hardy wrote about rescuing a cat while filming in Romania in 2005. I am choosing to overlook some side-eye moments (like bringing a cat with fleas into a hotel room) because the whole thing is charming. There's this perception of wanting to help but having no idea how to go about doing it. Just silly good-hearted goofiness.

Some highlights:

On the way back from the internet cafe yesterday, there’s this kitten in the road, and I’m like. hey kat whssup?

so I stopped and turned round and said hey kat where’s your family, and he’s like I don’t know. then he wanders up to me and bang he’s in my scoop

but he doesn’t want to hang out with them he wants to sit on my shoulder and stare and watch MTV in the room.

he is such a dude, and he is very funny and likes to talk a lot cuddle and sleep, plus he follows me everywhere talking romanian, I’m like I live in london dude I have no idea what you’re on about, you can’t live with me we’ll find you someone.

Basically Tom is a good guy who rescues cats and is adorable (according to tumblr). Also I really need to start using the phrase 'in my scoop.'

Stuff like this makes me adore the dude. Looks like a thug, voice like sandpaper and a heart of marshmallow. Perfect combo.

Those kitten pictures nearly killed me. So cute. And his retelling of finding the cat just cracked me up. I have no idea who this guy is, but I kinda love him now.

I think my favorite thing is that the only thing stopping he and the cat from communicating is that the cat speaks Romanian. Like they'd understand each other if not for that dratted language barrier!

His rapping is quite good, and for some reason, I'm not at all surprised by that. He seems like a man of many quirky hidden talents. That vid is so cute!

My favorite Brian Williams story is from when The Daily Show was doing a segment on Chatroulette. Jon connects with a bunch of TV news anchors doing random things, then connects with Brian Williams, who is (presumably; you only see him from the waist up) sitting naked in front of the webcam (since unexpected peen was one of the many obnoxious things about that site).

Oh that is AWESOME. I want to high-five her. She will have to settle for admiration from the internet.

I particularly liked:

And, Jesus Christ, give some respect to the professor. HE doesn’t need to be talking about basic calculus; he already knows all about it.

Heh. Yeah.

OK, this is more of an anecdote from Stephen Colbert than a quote but I highly recommend reading the full Colbert/Stewart interview here.

Another audience member asked the duo for marriage advice. Colbert told a story about how he used to sleepwalk (which was news to Stewart). Two weeks into his marriage to his wife, Evie, he had a dream that she had a tracheotomy hole in her neck, and little blue ghosts kept floating in and out of it. He decided he needed to stop this, so he placed one hand over the hole. The ghosts kept getting through his fingers, so he used both hands. Evie woke up to her new husband with both hands in strangling position around her neck. She responded with a calm but terse “What… are you doing?” He replied earnestly, “I’m keeping the ghosts in.”

The whole thing is awesomesauce.

I enjoyed her twisting the question back around to the topic of Les Mis by discussing sexuality as a commodity and all, but I think I enjoyed even MORE her sarcastic little, "I'd be happy to stay home, but the film..." in response to his comment that we've "seen a lot of [her] recently."

Matt Lauer is bad and he should feel bad.

But - and I say this without any judgement against Anne, just curious - I do wonder what the deal is with going commando in Hollywood. Surely there are panties out there that can be worn in a skintight dress without creating pantylines.

There are but it can be a preference thing. A lot of those panties are not necessarily comfortable. Or a dress may be cut in such a way that its not as feasible. And some people just don't like underpants. Its not just a Hollywood thing. I have a good friend who hates thongs, and if she doesn't have non panty line having underwear on hand will go commando.

Personally I like having that area secure but some people don't.
