Me too. And a lot of the douchier things he says strike me as more awkward than malicious.

I agree, for the most part. But still, I get the feeling that he;d say something stupid at the wrong moment. And, frankly, that's MY job in a relationship.

David's story about his imaginary childhood friend, a bucket, is perhaps the greatest thing I have ever seen.

Thanks for the link. I had seen him on Graham Norton, and found him funny, but he is truly hilarious.

Push off - I saw him first! Even when he was a little heavier, he was still delightful and full of righteous indignation.

Hee. Yes, totally delightful and he just has a way of voicing indignation in a smart, cutting, but funny way. That's a hard line to walk.

They do bother me, but I still like him overall. I wish he'd quit with that as part of his act, though - he's clever enough to be funny without it.

Justified has alerted me to the fact that David Meunier (Johnny Crowder) is kind of weirdly attractive.

I kind of wish I hadn't Googled the Donald Glover rape joke thing. I now have the urge to send him a strongly worded letter about how there were vastly more rapes than murders in a given year with a link to the Statistical Abstract. [/Librarian rage]

Ugh, I know. On one hand, I feel weird about singling him out for it, because (unfortunately) a LOT of comedians do it, and it would be unfair to pretend like he's the only one - but I also don't want to make excuses for it just because I like him. I'm going to hope that he'll evolve and change his mind.

I just watched the Mad Men cast on Inside the Actors Studio and hellooooooo Jared Harris. Who knew? The beard helped, I think.

I guess it's unusual to have a crush on an 80 year old (heh) but I just saw Lawrence of Arabia on the big screen and wo, Peter O'Toole! I knew he was good but didn't know he was that good. I haven't seen any of his other films. Any recommendations? I know I have to see Venus and My Favorite Year but if anyone can recommend any others, I'd appreciate it.

Not unusual! Peter O'Toole is lovely (or certainly was, back in the day), and Lawrence of Arabia is his best work. But be sure to watch How to Steal a Million! Seriously, Simon Dermot is one of his dreamiest characters. I'd also recommend Becket and Lion in Winter.

Also you might appreciate the SNL sketch "An Evening with Peter O'Toole and Michael Caine" (skip to 48:00) from when Jude Law hosted ages ago.
