Double post, but I'm enjoying how Lainey seems to just be pretending the Biel/Timberlake wedding didn't happen. First she calls it wrong in her intro, and now she's said NOTHING more about it.

Nobody else seems to be convinced it actually happened either.

She talked about this weave situation one other time too. That she was literally shocked that nearly every actress in Hollywood has fake hair these days. Yeah, I'm not sure how exactly she missed this.

Heh, I'll admit I'm with Lainey on this one, it never occurred to me that EVERYONE in the business has a weave/fake hair, like her, I thought most weaves looked bad/obvious. I mean I knew before 2012 that everyone said that was the case, but I personally can not distinguish a good weave from real hair, unless they go from short to long really quickly. And I refuse to believe Nina Dobrev's hair is fake!

I think I have said this here before, but I am missing the part of my brain that enables me to tell when someone is wearing a wig. If it's on their head it registers as hair. If I THINK about it, sure, I can probably see that maybe it's a wig. If someone has brown curly hair one day and straight blonde hair the next I will probably clue in to that as a possibility. But, most of the time it just doesn't occur to me until someone points it out that it might be a wig. So, this definitely extends (heh) to weaves and extensions. I know they exist, I know a ton of people have them, but unless it's SUPER, SUPER OBVIOUS, I am probably not going to figure it out. So I have to sympathize on that one.

To me the problem isnt that she can't tell but that shes acting like a weave is a new discovery.

I'll be positive first and say that I've been finding Celebitchy really entertaining lately. Maybe because I totally skip all the weirdly hateful royalty posts now.

OK, back to the complaining. This is Lainey on August 17:

Aaaaand...then there’s the crazy. What happens when you combine Twi-Hard and Olympics and f-ck it in Fifty Shades Of Grey? Olympic Fan Fiction... porn.
Another hilarious piece at Jezebel (thanks Andrea!). When Michael Phelps takes “Ry” in his arms and tell him he is “everything”, I found true happiness.

And today:

Prince Harry was in Vegas last night. So was Ryan Lochte. They ended up in a pool together. Easy. I too wish this story would end the way you want it to end -- with Lochte’s legs wrapped around Harry’s waist.

Can someone please tell her that it's not any less weird when you're being ironic? I don't mind RPF, but it's kind of wiggy when it shows up in a gossip column.

Gossip columnists taking a "Fan Fiction is weird and gross (and related to Twilight, for some reason)" attitude is kind of hilarious to me since a lot of gossip just reads like fan fiction without the step back of knowing it is fake.

I know Lainey has affection for Taylor Swift but what is with her latest analysis of the situation that paints Connor Kennedy as a swaggering man about town whose leading around a love sick Taylor Swift who has no agency? They crashed a wedding. It was rude of both of them. But they both should have known better. I mean, he may be a Kennedy who was "raised better" and "18 and rude" but by the same token hes a grieving high school boy involved with a huge celebrity. And shes a 22 year old.

They crashed a wedding? Did anyone at the wedding care about who they were? Well who she was because she's the one people would recognize right away.

Yeah, I really don't get that. I understand not wanting to make it all about Taylor, but it's just as wrong to make it all about Conor. They were both assholes in this situation. And she's Taylor Swift...she's performed a song about how immature Kanye West is IN FRONT OF KANYE WEST, she's messed around with John Mayer, she...drank lots of coffee with Jake Gyllenhaal, she's won Grammys, she's performed in front of her highly respected peers. She is not some naive ingenue straight off the bus from Kansas or something. By 22, I think you can handle leaving a wedding quietly if you're asked to.

What's weird to me is she flipped the switch on Taylor about a year ago and has consistently called her on her faux naivety bullshit, how in the world is this incident not emphasizing that Taylor was the one behind this (and right next to it, kissing it) entirely? Yes the grieving 18 year old kid was the one who decided he wanted to go to a *wedding* last minute, and insisted his starry eyed girlfriend be his +1. Young Dudes love going to weddings almost as much as they love going to good baby shower. Or y'know brunch and apple picking. Heh.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2192017/Taylor-Swift-refused-leave-Kyle-Kennedys-wedding-asked-twice-Victoria-Gifford-Kennedy.html

In a nutshell: It was the wedding of his first cousin, he was invited, but never RSVPed. An hour before the wedding he texted the bride's mother to see if he could come after all, she said no. They showed up anyway, Taylor signed autographs for awhile in the hotel lobby, they left during dinner, came back for the dancing. Bride's mother says she asked them to leave, Taylor's rep says they were invited and welcomed by the bride. Twits.

I can't believe her rep is actually contradicting the bride's MOTHER. I mean, this is probably the time to just shut the hell up and let it blow over.

Also, the pics/video of them visiting his mother's grave seem so tasteless. I understand paps are sneaky, but this felt a little too much like a photo op to me.

"There was a misunderstanding regarding the invitation and Taylor did not in any way mean to disturb the wedding." That's all her PR had to say. Grandma Ethel isn't going to live forever, Taylor, no point in antagonizing the rest of the family.

It seems like this thing has been blown out of proportion. It's entirely possible that after getting rejected by his aunt he texted the bride or groom themselves and they said they didn't care or were happy for them to come. I can imagine an 18 year old not giving a thought about rsvping particularly because it's probably something he is still used to have his mom doing it for him. I found Victoria commenting about it to the press about as tacky as them crashing. Has Kathy Lee weighed in?

Kathie Lee confirmed Taylor crashed on Today apparently.

I am still weirded out by Lainey seeming to think Taylor shouldn't also recognize her behavior as rude. Like its all on the Kennedy kid, because hes a Kennedy.

It seems Taylor has been quoted as being obsessed with the Kennedy's. I can't link to anything, because I heard the quotes being read on the radio. So, take it with a grain of salt.

BUT... I can totally imagine a scenario where Taylor and Conner were thinking of stuff to do, he mentioned the wedding and Taylor loved the idea of going to a Kennedy wedding. Maybe she didn't know they weren't actually invited and played clueless so she could tell herself it wasn't a big deal... but I really don't like Taylor and am willing to believe she thought she could get away with it.

My feeling is... the Kennedy kid WAS rude to bring her, but child, if the mother of the bride WALKS UP TO YOU and asks you to leave, you do it. You can blame being brought on Conor -- maybe he didn't tell you that you weren't RSVP'd properly -- but when you're asked to leave, IN PERSON, you LEAVE. That's on her. Both of them.

I am still boggling at how pissed off Vicki Kennedy must have been to comment, on the record, to the Boston Herald. That is not a paper that likes the Kennedys and generally the feeling is mutual.

And to stay after being asked to leave is really beyond the pale, etiquette-wise. They could have said, "Oh, sorry! Hey, can we go grab dinner in one of the eight million restaurants around this hotel and then come back for the dancing?" Instead she sat in the lobby and signed autographs. Ridiculous.

ETA: Just read Lainey's post saying the old money Cape Codders think this makes Victoria look bad. I grew up around old money and let me tell you, I bet they would put up with anything, including talking to the press, to get rid of a new-money, big-mouthed, paparazzi-magnet Southener like Taylor Swift. This is not going to damage Victoria Kennedy's social standing. At. All.

Lainey's fixation on Aaron Johnson and Sam Taylor-Wood interests me. Like they fascinate me too but in the sense of "oh its going to be messy when they blow up". I think Aaron Johnson is talented but I think she well overestimates his talent and gifts, and also her thoughts on their relationship in that article today weirded me out. Like if he had said all that stuff and been a 22 year old girl? Alarm bells would have been going off for me. Even now I was like "oh this is not going to end well". Because in what world is grooming the perfect partner a good thing?

I was coming to say this exact same thing. The level of obsession there is a little frightening. I mean, she is analyzing every word to find hidden depth and meaning. I'm not sure I've ever seen her read into an interview with this kind of breathless detail.

Also, he is seriously not attractive to me, so I kind of check out when she goes on about how "beautiful" he is.

I love that it never occurs to Lainey that that right there is some serious CRAZY. Honestly this part:

One way to do it in a relationship is to have both people bring equal parts of themselves into it and, in theory, eventually everyone, all of it, develops together. Can we call that idealistic? How many of us have been failed by love, ultimately because that person can’t change?

Had me making assumptions of my own. That's preferable to thinking she actually gives that much of shit about Aaron Johnson OR Sam Taylor-Wood.
