He has a movie coming out soon with Woody Harrelson. Is the world ready for that?

I think its a tv show, and they've done a couple movies together. My favorite being Ed TV.

Which was a remake of a French language Canadian film, and was sadly nowhere near as good as the original.

But I agree, I always thought Matthew McConaughey was a good actor, but I thought he had just decided to be in it for the paycheck for a while. He was on "Fresh Air" a month or two ago, and did say that having kids made him busy with other things so he was just now more patient in waiting for the right projects, which I guess may be what also changed people's perceptions of what he'll accept/what he gets sent.

I stumbled across this trailer for a movie called Closed Circuit while looking for one of Eric Bana's comedy sketches. Maybe I just like Eric Bana in a suit, or maybe it's I'm a sucker for courtroom drama-type movies, but this looks like something I'll find interesting. And bonus Jim Broadbent never goes amiss...

The LEGO Movie

Oh my god I love that trailer so much. WILL ARNETT AS BATMAN!!!!!!!! Which is kind of funny to me because I've been playing a lot of "LEGO Batman 2" this week and I had been thinking that Will was voicing Two-Face. Then hearing him as Batman got me to finally go check on his IMDb page. Alas, he was not Two-Face in the game. But now he's Batman, so it's all good!

And the remix/cover of "Take On Me".

And the design choice to make this movie that is clearly animated on a computer look like it was done with herky-jerky stop motion. Brilliant.

AND AND the 1980-something space guy! I had a million of him!

AND AND AND Morgan Freeman and Chris Pratt!

Yes, I am being stupid giddy over a merchandising bonanza. But I really liked Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Clone High, so I think this will also be a legitimately fun/funny movie.

"Rush" trailer

Starring Chris Hemsworth. Ron Howard's upcoming film about Formula One in the unsafe 1970s. I had a straight-up fangasm in my office over this thing and I'm still all over goosebumps. Don't let me down, Ron Howard!

It opens on Friday, September 20th, and the Singapore Grand Prix is airing at 9 AM on Sunday the 22nd. So I have a tentative plan to watch the Grand Prix in the morning, and go see the movie in the afternoon!

I want to see that, too! I also want to see this one:

Austenland

Granted, it will probably be stupid, but when has that ever stopped me? Besides, it has Bret McKenzie!! BRIT!!

Oh I heard about that one! Definitely going to see it. And JJ Feild/Henry Tilney is in it! That's like Colin Firth/Darcy in Bridget Jones.

The book is one of my favorite of Austen interpretations out there. Keri Russell is really well cast and JJ Feild is my favorite and also seems pretty perfectly cast.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to that. And I've never heard of the book, so I'm adding it to my request list at the library. I really want more Keri Russell in my life.

Saving Mr. Banks

Not gonna lie, I am an unapologetic Disney fanboy, and Mary Poppins is right there at the top of the list of reasons. However, I appreciate Mrs. Travers position, and I'm hoping that this movie doesn't err too far on the side of "St. Disney". In the end, "big businesss" Walt got exactly what he wanted and "little guy" Mrs. Travers was left feeling betrayed and ignored. I don't expect Disney to paint Walt as the villain - nor do I believe he was. I enjoy the end product too much to believe Walt was completely wrong to pursue his vision. But at the same time, this story is one of those examples of Hollywood's (not just Walt's) willingness to trample source material, and in this case the ending of the business relationship was not at all a happy one (so much so that 40 years later when Cameron Mackintosh approached her to produce the stage version, her conditions included that almost nothing of the film version be carried over).

How to Train Your Dragon 2

YES PLEASE. The music, the imagery... the new, more mature look for Hiccup. If the trailers for the first film had been this good, getting me to see it wouldn't have been like pulling teeth.
