Paul Bettany as "the Vision" in new Avengers movie?

I dunno how this will play out, given that Bettany is already the voice of JARVIS. I wonder if the Vision will end up being JARVIS-with-a-body, or something else?

Sometimes I wonder if they are going too big with Avengers II.

And then I think, "FUCK YES GO SHITHOUSE BIG WITH IT."

Part of that is because the first movie was burdened with a lot of, "Why put these people together?" This movie has that already established, so open the whole thing up.

One theory I've seen is that the Vision will be the "good" side of JARVIS and Ultron will be the "bad" side. So it still sticks with a more Tony-centric mindset that Avengers 1 tended toward, keeping him flawed and somewhat responsible for the villain.

I was thinking about this whole series the other day and I'm realizing that the MCU will be to my son what Star Wars was to me. And admittedly, my son loves Star Wars, but there's something about seeing a movie on a big screen that imprints somehow on a child. And I don't mind that at all because they're mostly great movies and it's a great time for them to be coming out.

Full 'Guardians of the Galaxy' trailer is out! And it looks great!

Okay, fine. I was wrong. They made me care about the Guardians in the comics (the Gamora/Angela friendship is the best and I'm really digging the current Trial of Jean Grey crossover storyline going on right now). And they made me excited for this movie. I wish I could have myself cryogenically frozen after the 'Captain America' movie in April so I can fast forward to August to see this one.

I saw a comment made somewhere-- maybe i09-- from someone that they weren't going to be interested until they realized this was the closest thing we'd ever get to a Farscape motion picture.

That sounds about right. I'm in.

Ha, it totally is, or least seems like it. Green girl instead of a blue/gray one, Rygel/racoon, the tree or Djimon could be D'Argo. Does seem short an Aeryn Sun though, but there's only ONE Aeryn Sun. Hooked on Feelin' is great way to let you know how fun and different this group of comic book superheros are going to be.

It's funny, I didn't read this quote until just now but when I saw the trailer I immediately thought of Farscape! I am a huge Farscape fangirl and this is indeed probably as close as we're ever going to get to a big budget film.

I have watched the trailer three times in the past 24 hours. I had no prior investment in GotG, and now I'm as excited about it as I am for Winter Soldier.

Now if I could only get Hooked on a Feeling out of my head...

That's who it sounded like to me.

CAN'T WAIT.

Still can't wrap my head around the fact that the directors of this movie are also the guys responsible for much of Arrested Development and Community.

Home after seeing The Winter Soldier, and I'd recommend it highly. It is equal parts political thriller and superhero movie, and is all the better for that combination.

All the Marvel flicks seem to be opening here earlier. I'm not sure why but I can't say I hate it. (Sorry, laddical!)

I'm going to see this tomorrow. Yay for me!

I saw Captain America The Winter Soldier tonight and I'm sorry to report that there is no shirtless Steve Rogers scenes. However, there is some nice arm porn so it's not like making the film was a complete waste of their time. Priorities, I know you have them.

It's an interesting mix of action and political shenanigans and it kept reminding me of films from the 70s like The Conversation but all meshed up in the Marvel universe. It's a interesting tack to take with superhero films and it does it quite well.

My mother now has Bucky Barnes feels. She keeps calling the dogs Bucky Wucky and hopes that Bucky gets the chance to be a good boy in future films. I don't know how to fight it so I'm not even going to try.

Holy crap. Captain America.

What.

Was.

THAT?

Kevin Feige is some kind of dark wizard. It's the only explanation for how a spoiler seeker like me honestly did not see half of this movie coming.

Spoiler:
Peggy Carter! Arnim Zola! Stephen Strange! Sitwell's a bad guy! Gary Shandling's asshole congresscritter from Iron Man 2 is an asshole traitor!

And the mid-credits teaser!

Spoiler:
Quicksilver's speed looks so good. And the way Elizabeth Olsen moves her hands for Wanda's "spells" is perfect. I thought the images of Pietro and Wanda from X-Men: Days of Future Past looked like crap compared to the set photos of Age of Ultron, but I'm even more convinced of that now - when it comes to the children of Magneto, Joss Whedon is going to kick the crap out of Bryan Singer and he can't even mention their parentage by name!

I can't even fathom what this means for Agents of SHIELD. Like... all of a sudden, it's entirely possible that ABC has dragged their feet on announcing Season 2 because there was never any intention to do a second season. CRAZY.

Anthony Mackie freaking ruled as Falcon. That whole character came off even better than I was expecting and while I don't know that there's enough "there" to build a solo movie around, I'm excited to see what happens with Cap 3.

Warner Bros. and DC are so far behind the curve now that it just gets more and more embarrassing. And they want to put Man of Steel 2 up against the follow up to this? Honestly, they'd be so much smarter to fire Ben Affleck (sorry, Ben, I still love you!) and fast track the movie back to 2015 like originally planned.

ETA. Regarding Agents of SHIELD
Spoiler:
I was so hung up on what will happen to the show next season that I didn't even think that they weren't planning a next season at all. OMG, mind blown.

Saw Winter Soldier last night, loooooooved it. It was also entertaining that before we went to the movie, I was explaining to my friend why I like the idea of Steve and Natasha as a pairing based on their interactions in The Avengers, only to have a whole movie basically dedicated to Steve/Natasha shipping.

Am I the only one who thought it was weird:
that when Natasha says Sharon's name at the end, she doesn't say "Sharon Carter"? It seemed like a buildup to that.
