Spartacus is awesome with its gratuitous nudity. Just about every single regular cast member has been naked at one point or another, and it's usually good for a threesome at least once or twice a season. I actually find the show legit good and can't wait for it to come back.

Funny story - at Comic Con, the cast was having breakfast at the next table over from us. The actors who play Spartacus, Gannicus and Crixus walked by, and they're all JACKED like action figures. Then Lucy Lawless followed behind them along with the actress who plays Mira, and they both TOWERED over all the guys! Lucy, just naturally and Mira because she had on a pair of kickass 6 inch platform stripper heels. When I complimented her shoe choice, she thanked me and said that her mom picked them out!

And that's before you get into the most flourid dialogue you'll ever hear, research on the subject that didn't go further than Sparty's wikipedia page and shameless aping of 300.

Dance Moms is back, and despite the fact that I still feel like a bad person for liking it, yes, I'm watching again. Pass the popcorn.

Last night we watched Drew Peterson: Untouchable on Lifetime, which was based on a book written by one of my former coworkers (who is a character in the movie). It was amusingly horrible. Rob Lowe, who sported a REALLY fake looking belly, was the only one who attempted a crappy Chicago accent. He did, however, nail Peterson's douchebaggery. One quibble, though: The newsroom set was WAY too clean, brightly lit, and technologically advanced to be our newsroom. Most of the developments in this case my coworkers and I watched on the news on the one crappy ancient TV up in the corner and only if the paper remembered to pay the cable bill that month.

Okay. I rarely admit this out loud, but MTV's The Challenge: Exes starts this week, and I will be watching. I watch them all, have favorite "characters" and everything. I am always appalled with myself the entire hour--it may seriously subtract brain cells--and yet I continue to watch.

I'm not proud, y'all.

Embarrassing confession: I watched the Wonder Girls' TV movie on TeenNick (the whole thing is up on their website). It was cheesy, predictable, and I kind of liked it a lot. I love the Wonder Girls! I can't help it! I'm kind of excited they're getting so much exposure in the US.

Face Off is fun! Who knew that show would be so catty? Beki's hostile ass is quite exciting to watch!

Beki cracks me up. She's all abrasive and hardcore, but she's scraping clay and pulling molds to help her fellow contestants make time.

Wipeout

I know, it's people getting smacked around and hurt for my entertainment.

It takes the American Gladiators spot in TV viewing for me, I guess.

Is that the one with the cutouts and people have to fit themselves into them or be pushed into water? Because I love the Japanese version of it.

We watched Winter Wipeout over Christmas and the season of goodwill didn't stop us from laughing constantly at other people's pain...so not judging over here!

Add me to the Face Off fan club. When I was a teenager, my dream job was to design special effects makeup for horror movies. Of course, I have no discernible artistic talent whatsoever, so that wasn't going to work out, but I have a deep appreciation for these artists and their work.

Oh my god, I laugh until I cry every. week. And it's the same thing every week! There is just something about flailing human bodies that sends me into hysterics. I usually just feel bad for them by the end, though, because they're so exhausted. I wish there was some way for the finalists to do the Wipeout Zone on a different day, because I always get worried when one gets knocked off of something and comes up looking like he has no idea where he is.

mialoubug, when they show the quick time-lapsed transformations, I always want to gasp because the person becomes so unrecognizable with all the makeup on. Those contestants are truly artists, and the way they shape human canvases is incredible!

xyzzy, it really surprised me when I saw her helping someone (Greg?) out in an episode. I totally didn't expect her to do that because she seems like she's only out for herself and just wouldn't care if anyone sank or swum.

Did anyone else watch the Puppy Bowl yesterday? Enjoyable and adorable, as usual. My favorite parts were when Fumble fell asleep in the end zone and Aberdeen earned a penalty for hogging the toys.

Love the Puppy Bowl, watch it every year! Although I will say that this year, the addition of the sideline "reporter" was annoying. I really didn't like her. But the piggy pep squad and the tweeting bird and the hamsters in the blimp...love it! Who doesn't like watching puppies and kitties?

I loves me some Puppy Bowl. I am so happy they've continued to do the hamster blimp, which may be my favorite thing. I didn't get the point of the sideline reporter either. Adding too many humans kind of ruins it. Also, I miss the old ref.

Whoever initially thought of this thing is just a GENIUS and I hope they got a huge promotion and are now running the network. If there is a Counterprogramming Lifetime Achievement Award, Animal Planet should win it.

One of my favorite parts is the "fact" about each puppy. The more random they are the more I like them. "Never misses an episode of Bones": Kinda funny. "Has every Bow Wow song on his iPawd": Eh. "Restores classic cars": FUNNY.

I love the Puppy Bowl so, so much. I actually cheered when a puppy made a touchdown! Because I am lame like that. Also, Kitty Halftime! The kitties this year seemed especially playful.

I read that all the puppies have been adopted. Can you imagine how cool it would be to watch your very own adopted puppy on the Puppy Bowl?

So daytime TV blows, and in 10 months of unemployment I've watched every single episode of Law & Order at least once, so I've recently become addicted to watching Las Vegas reruns, since TNT shows two episodes a day.

It's surprisingly entertaining. I really enjoy watching James Caan beat on some cheaters and lament the bad old days when they used to bury them alive in the desert. Josh Duhamel is scorchingly hot also. I find the inner workings of casinos really interesting. So much so, I was insane enough to interview for a marketing job at one of the local casinos (which went nowhere, thank god). It's a fun little mindless show to watch while cleaning the house or trolling Craigslist for job openings.

There are a ton of famous people playing themselves, too. I'm watching an episode right now with Michael Buble playing himself, who's decided he wants to quit singing and become a mime.
