Jane the Virgin
Because it deserves its own thread. I love love love this show.
I can't decide who the MVP is:
I can't decide who the MVP is:
- Gina Rodriguez is soulful and making absurd plot-twists so sweetly human
- Andrea Navedo is giving Lorelai Gilmore a run for her money as the new makes-bad-romantic-choices-but-is-a-great-mom-with-great-legs character
- Jaime Camil often has me in stitches - Rogelio is such a glorious cartoon
- Latin Lover Narrator is probably the winner: OMG it's him it's him!

I am in love with that show too. The writing is sharp, I love the snarky narrator, and all the actors are really good together; all the various pairings (and I don't mean, just romantic) are interesting to watch.
The Jane/Xiomara relationship also reminded me of Lorelai/Rory, which is a high compliment. I missed this kind of vibe on a TV show. I love everything this show wants to be, and I'll be crushed if it gets cancelled after one season.

I find Justin Baldoni to be a charisma vacuum so the Rafe character is a huge issue for me, given that he is the center pairing. I mean with Gina, Andrea and Jaime it's difficult to shine but he just is so blah to me, I can't get behind their romance.
I even find Michael and Petra more compelling than the Rafael character.

Started watching the show pretty good although I gate shows with mix up plots but this one is pretty interesting so I'll give it a go

It goes on a bit longer than I needed, but this video from Justin Baldoni is still so damn cute I can't stand it. If you get sick of watching skip to the very end. :)

I would totally watch a Michael/Rogelio spin-off.

The narrator is the best part if the show , I agree. I keep debating whether to watch or not because it's too Tele novella but then they do make it fast paced and twists unravel quickly.

That's what keeps me watching - it's not getting to dragged out soap opera-y levels just yet. Any plot twists are usually laid out by the end of an episode and they seem to keep the convenient misunderstandings/mishaps to a minimum.

I seriously love this show because every time I think it is about to get too cheesy, or Jane is too cutesy of a character, they go and resolve something quickly or have Jane actually have a mature honest conversation with someone. They play with all kinds of cliches while still developing these realistic, likeable characters. Why is this show not more popular?

What. The. Hell.
I'm so upset after last night's episode, I can't even. I'm shocked that I was even surprised because they kept telegraphing that ending. But still...
But still.
This is supposed to be one of my happy fun shows.

Re: Jane the Virgin
Look, they've been warning me since season one, but I'm still not emotionally capable of dealing with this. Whyyyyyyyy?
- Spoiler:
- I think the thing that bums me out the most is that I was genuinely enjoying watching Michael be a stepdad to Mateo and watching him and Rafael build a decent relationship. The narrator was always fully upfront about the fact that Michael was toast, but I wish they had changed their minds. I wanted Jane and Michael to be those old people who had Sunday bbqs with their kids, and I would have honestly loved to see Raf end up with Petra. Now I have to adjust, and I don't wanna waaaahhhhh.

Re: Jane the Virgin
I just hope, hope, hope they're not using this as a vehicle to get Rafael and Jane back together. Even though I was hugely Team Rafael in the beginning, Team Michael really won me over. And I just won't be able to accept it if they How I Met Your Mother this show and make it all about how Rafael and Jane were always meant to be together. I, too, much prefer Raf with Petra. I will say, I really love the Saturday brunches and how despite their differences and all the history there, when push comes to shove, Jane and Petra are there for each other.
And I still want Rogelio and Xo to make their way back to each other. They're each other's lobsters and then need to just realize it and be together.

I'm dying to know whose wedding Jane's on her way to. If Rogelio and Xo do not end up together I will set fire to something, I swear.
