Better Call Saul!
A worthy successor to Breaking Bad.
When this was announced as a prequel I thought that might have been a red herring to keep people guessing if Saul was going to live with the finale, but seeing McGill turn into Goodman has potential for a character arc. Especially since he was never that ethical to begin with.
My favorite was Five-0 finding out how Mike left the Philly PD. Gilligan liked leaving character background dangling. Enough so that whenever he pulled that move (why Walt left Grey Matters, Gustavo's background in Chile) I though "Oh he's doing That again. So it's nice to see the details get filled in.

Re: Better Call Saul!
I'm loving this show. Loving it.
I wasn't that attached to Saul, I don't like lawyer shows, I really never thought twice about this after hearing that it was in the works. But it's just enjoyable as hell. It's a show that's well-made and that makes a difference, I guess. I couldn't tell you what it is that I like about it so much, but I love it. I'm sad there are only a couple left in the season.
Like 9 million people have said this before me, but Bob Odenkirk is doing an amazing job basically carrying an entire show by himself.

Is there really only one episode left? Nooooo!
This was amazing. Poor Jimmy. I guess that explains why he and Chuck aren't the McGill Brothers, fighting to save the world side-by-side.
Mike ruled, as usual. His speech about criminals versus bad guys was gold.

Re: Better Call Saul!
It all boils down to Chuck not appreciating Jimmy. Even after indulging his mania and proving himself with the Class Action suit.
I was so geeked when I realized it was Trevor from GTAV that Mike beat up. Please bring him back.
I can't wait to see what Mike and Jimmy get up to next season.

Aw man, I'm so bummed that the season is already over - but it was an amazing season. I loved every minute of it. When does the next one start?

My husband says this is the best portrayal of workaday lawyering he's ever seen on television. I never got into Breaking Bad but I really enjoy BCS.
Also, since we all know how things end for the characters, which is badly, does it seem to anyone else like a (very entertaining) Greek tragedy? Like Agamemnon or Oedipus? Jimmy and Mike can't stop it, all we can do is helplessly watch them make the choices that will send them where we know they'll be. Its like, their actions are locked in and we're just watching them unfold. Unlike an open-ended show, this is a prequel so the future is set. It's the TV version of immutable destiny set down by the gods, and the characters can't escape or change what's going to happen to them.

See, I've made that exact same argument re prequels but it always feels like it gets trumped by the bad line, "But we know how it ends! What's the point?" Which is usually coming from someone who can watch the same movie dozens of times over.
