Yeah, definite recommend! Not super gross or scary, but with some genuinely creepy moments. Great kid actors.

Re: Stranger Things
I loved it, and the whole time I was waiting for young Sean Astin and young Corey Haim to pop out from somewhere the 80s vibe was SO strong. I thought it was really well done, and thought the length of the series was just perfect - kept things moving swiftly and didn't linger on anything uninteresting. My only nitpick is
- Spoiler:
- that Barb's disappearance didn't feel properly addressed at the end
Re: Stranger Things
I really like it too, and enjoyed the early 80's vibe. I agree with your criticism too.

I love all the kids, but especially Dustin. That kid is so freaking cute and talented. And I love the theories that Jean Ralphio from Parks and Rec is Steve's son.

Re: Stranger Things
I love this show and just saw it's getting a Season Two, which is great news. My best friend and I did a "if-you-watch-this-I'll-watch-that" deal last month, so I watched Stranger Things on her recommendation and she's watching Parks and Recreation on mine. Luckily, it worked out well for both of us!
Another friend watched the show and said he thought the dialogue was lame and that Winona Ryder's acting was too over-the-top, but I don't agree at all. It's not great literature televised or anything, but the show kept my interest throughout and I thought Winona was great, as were the kids, especially Eleven.

Re: Stranger Things
Parks and Rec + Stranger Things sounds like a great plan.
I could've sworn I posted this already, but I don't see it here. A friend wrote this cool article about Stranger Things, Girls Feel Stranger Things, Too. Enjoy!

Re: Stranger Things
If you haven't already seen it, three of the kids sang Uptown Funk at the Emmys, complete with dance moves. Actually sang, not lipsynced. SO CUTE.
