Rockstar announces Grand Theft Auto V with a bit of a Fuck you.

Watching Murder by Death I was reminded one of my favorites Gore Vidal vs. Truman Capote.

Stephen Beatty vs. Chaz Bono
I didn't hear about Stephen Beatty coming out (if that's the right word for transition). Mostly I can't believe one of Warren Beatty's kids is 20.

A classic:

Raymond Chandler vs. Alfred Hitchcock

What I cannot understand is your permitting a script which after all had some life and vitality to be reduced to such a flabby mass of cliches, a group of faceless characters, and the kind of dialogue every screen writer is taught not to write—the kind that says everything twice and leaves nothing to be implied by the actor or the camera. Of course you must have had your reasons but, to use a phrase once coined by Max Beerbohm, it would take a "far less brilliant mind than mine" to guess what they were.

Regardless of whether or not my name appears on the screen among the credits, I'm not afraid that anybody will think I wrote this stuff. They'll know damn well I didn't. I shouldn't have minded in the least if you had produced a better script—believe me. I shouldn't. But if you wanted something written in skim milk, why on earth did you bother to come to me in the first place?

Chelsea Handler v. Joan Rivers

I do think Chelsea is capable of being very funny, but Team Joan all the way.

Kim Kardashian is whatever and I don't care about her, but Jon Hamm's original comment screamed of sour grapes to me, to be honest. I still like him fine but he comes across as immature here.

Deadmau5 v. Madonna

She's making a pathetic attempt to grab at some sort of hipness with the "Molly" reference. He's being ridiculous by taking offense that she would DARE to make an ECSTASY reference at an ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC festival. This one's a wash to me.

Ugh I went on a cruise that Joel played and he was a PAB. Team Madonna, I don't care how desperately inappropriately she clings to youth.

I think Madonna looked a bit desperate and try hard, but at least she doesn't go around with a giant plastic mouse head.

@deadmau5 do you need to be reminded that you would be pointless if it wasn't for molly and ecstasy ?
I don't know who DJ Daze is, but I think I like them.

No, especially since their difficulties with him had been aired pretty publicly. I'm surprised they put up with him as long as they did.

Why is he still in broadcasting is a mystery to me. It seems like he's burned every single bridge known to man at this point.

I suspect this may be it. Who would hire him after this? I bet he pulls a Charlie Sheen and does some kind of internet thing next.

From that NYTimes post:
“We are confident that our viewers will be able to count on Governor Spitzer to deliver critical information on a daily basis,” Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt wrote.

With those words — “on a daily basis” — the founders of Current hinted at one of the reasons for Mr. Olbermann’s termination. It was the culmination, at least in part, of months of infighting between the famously temperamental Mr. Olbermann and his bosses at Current. He clashed early and often with Mr. Hyatt, and David Bohrman, the channel’s president, and it spilled out into public view in January after Mr. Olbermann declined Current’s requests to host special hours of election coverage, apparently out of frustration about technical difficulties that had plagued his 8 p.m. program, “Countdown.”

Lawyers interceded in the rift, and they appeared to work out an arrangement for future primary election nights.

But in January and February, Mr. Olbermann continued to miss many days of work, as he himself acknowledged on his Twitter feed. He attributed some of his absences to throat problems.
Yeah, that will get you canned anywhere. Especially after missing Super Tuesday.

Was it an April Fool's Joke or are Wil Wheaton and Adam Baldwin really fighting over twitter because of a Blogess video? And then Neil Gaiman was retweeting AB's comments about Wilw mocking God? I hate it when Internet Nerd Kings fight....

Wil Wheaton is left leaning, and Adam Baldwin is a right wing tea party member who likes to pick fights. I'm not surprised this happened, Baldwin is an extreme douchecanoe (which makes me sad because I have been a fan of his acting).

I used to follow both of them on Twitter, and both can be very passionate about their political views. I can see where that would be a recipe for disaster.

So incestuous, my twitter feed.

I gathered that about the political views but I saw the video and they weren't really mocking the Bible. Unless you really do think the Bible is hilarious. Which it really isn't. Even when I was a hardcore fundy, I never thought the good book was full of jokes. Which is why I wondered if it all was a prank. Especially when Neil Gaiman retweeted Adam Baldwin cause what does these two have in common? They're only vaguely connected by Felicia Day.

No idea if there's some other connection but I assume he jumped in because he was also in the video that Baldwin took issue with, which was promoting a book that he blurbed.

I used to follow Baldwin on Twitter and, as much as I love him as an actor, the man has a shocking lack of sense of humor. About basically anything. Yet, his coworkers seem to mostly enjoy him, so there has to be some funny somewhere. It ain't to be found on his internet presence, that's for sure.

Has Baldwin always been a rightie? I swear he used to swing the other way - wasn't he one of the celebs who threated to leave the county if Bush was reelected?

Not to get all political, of course - I haven't been able to stomach him since he left the shitty message for his daughter.
