A bit late in the day, considering that Season 1 just ended, but is anyone else watching this?

I think it's funny and charming, and I love all of the actors. Even the daughter (Violet), whom I thought was going to be bitchy and terrible. They toned down her character a lot, and she knocked it out of the park for the season finale. (No spoilers, but her performance made me cry.)

I was really happy this was renewed. Most of the cast are women, the female characters have distinct personalities (OMG), and a lot of the episodes deal with feelings and relationships beyond the usual sitcom tropes. My husband and I both have, uh, complicated relationships with our mothers, so we both really like it.

I don't think the show has figured out quite what to do with the restaurant or with the young son but we'll see what happens in S2.

There's a health care plan in the States that uses Alison Janney to voice all of their Healthy and Wholesome and Family-friendly brand initiative marketing, and every time one of their commercials comes on I have to wonder what they think of Allison Janney's role on this show. I hope she and Anna Faris both get nominated this year.

I loved the last scene in the finale. For a sitcom, it was very quiet - basically, Christy talking about her crazy year, and how she used to think that becoming sober caused her life to fall apart, but now she realizes that she "got sober just in time".

(I also adore Kevin Pollock. That beard suits him.)

I love this show for choosing to stay tightly focused on three generations of women, and their other women friends. They seemed to rightfully realize the restaurant schtick wasn't working/necessary and have backgrounded it, and I hope next season will ditch entirely. Having said that, I also hope they give Badger a larger role (and I did think they were setting him up to grow up and get back with Christy), he's probably the most consistently FUNNY part of the show along with Luke. Not that Bonnie/Christy aren't just that the show being grounded in the damage that alcoholism/addiciton does to your life and the people you love, is not always the stuff of hardy hars.

she knocked it out of the park for the season finale

She really really did. I definitely teared up when she said goodbye to her baby, Smokey Taylor.

I kinda hope the restaurant sticks around, at least a little bit, because French Stewart makes me laugh a lot.

Is the name "Smokey" growing on anyone else, or just me?

Oh, and Luke frantically wandering the hospital yelling "VIOLET!" was priceless.

Luke actually gets on my nerves, but that bit was funny. Violet broke my heart, although I am SO SURE Christy would leave her active-laboring daughter to tell the Taylors she changed her mind, especially when she could (and did) change it right back again. But, whatever, Janney and Faris saved it, like they do.

I thought the Badger and Roscoe scenes were a little pointless and disconnected, but I'm not going to complain about more Badger. He's hilarious. "We both know I'm borderline creepy." Ha! And know matter how many times I hear his character name, I can't think of him as anything but Badger.

I like this show. It reminds me of Grace Under Fire, a show that never got enough credit.

Same here, but hopefully Anna Faris isn't batshit insane like Brett Butler was.

The commercials for this show intrigued me, mainly because I always find Anna Faris funny, but I haven't checked it out yet. Sounds like it's worth a catch-up on OnDemand.

Man, I haven't heard a thing about him in forever, glad to see he's still working.

Premiere was delayed till late October so they can run two Big Bang Theory episodes in that hour. I'm kinda disappointed, I was hoping BBT as a lead-in might get a few more people to watch this show...
