Stuff We Wish Existed
I always have awesome twitter conversations with Kiran and Genevieve about books and tv shows and movies that we wish really existed. Here is my entertainment Christmas list, universe! Get cracking!
1. A Christmas movie from the makers/stars of "Center Stage". Behind-the-scenes shenanigans when Cooper's ridiculous ballet company tries to put on a ridiculous rock version of "The Nutcracker".
2. A "Mysterious Benedict Society" adaptation from the BBC featuring Stephen Fry and Kevin McKidd.
3. JAMES FRANCO AS TROY AND ANNE HATHAWAY AS HEAVEN. Please universe just give me this one soon! They're basically too old for it now, but they're so very very perfect for the roles... picture Franco in a puffy shirt and AH selling the "my brother was killed by a lion because of MEEEEEEEE" scenes.

From Twitter discussion with PrincessCleo the other day: a tumblr, "actorsreadinggothicnovels."
In particular, my choice would be Michael Emerson reading "The Woman in White" although he could do almost any of them and it would be awesome.

Don't forget my oscar winning masterpiece "Christian Bale gets naked"
The Troy and Heaven thing is up there.
Me and Gen long for an hbo miniseries on the Mitford sisters, and a bbc adaptation of The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets. Which needs to be done soon because our dream Harry, Dominic Cooper, is getting too famous.

I would happily go see "Christian Bale Gets Naked". On opening weekend, even.
And yes, Mitford sisters yes.

You know, I sort of think that Ben Whishaw could play Harry rather well. He has that look that would work.

He could but I fear him getting to big for it too. You know I just want them to make it before we aren't making do with JJ from Skins Generation 2 is what I'm saying.

The man be keeping strong women down? I personally think Naked Christian Bale would sweep the oscars and be a major grosser. The new Slumdog if you will.

It would be something so great that the public would never quite recover from it.

Re: Stuff We Wish Existed
I also have an idea for a movie called Mr T in love. Its a romantic comedy centered around Mr T trying to find love while raising his orphaned nephew and niece.
I also have long had the idea for a Judd Apatow comedy starring Sarah Hagan as a misanthropic bailiff torn between Charlie Hunnam and Martin Starr.
Oh and can someone just make a movie that repairs Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams in such a way that I can scream KISS NOW without feeling like I'm advocating for something evil?

I would watch the shit out of that movie. And buy the DVD.
Re: Stuff We Wish Existed
This thread is full of GENIUSES.
eventide82, not only would I go see that movie AND buy the DVD, I'd go see the touring company doing the ballet inspired by the movie.

I remember reading an interview with Gary Oldman several years ago, where he said that while he does get typecast as a villain, he really wanted to get cast in a romantic comedy. I'm upset that this still hasn't happened.

Oh hey, I had a documentary in mind revolving around that same idea. It might include naked ranting and yelling about how I'm effin' unprofessional or whatever. Probably won't hold a candle to your work though, Kiran.Kiran wrote:Don't forget my oscar winning masterpiece "Christian Bale gets naked"

Re: Stuff We Wish Existed
I believe the world has room for multiple "Christian Bale Gets Naked" films. I hope it spawns an entire franchise.
I also would like to vote for some Very Romantic And Not Creepy At All Movie starring Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy and passionate kisses between the two of them. Cillian Murphy can also get naked, if he likes.
I also think somebody should remake Die Hard as a heist movie.

Poubelle, you're right. What the world needs now is not love, sweet love. It just needs lots of naked Christian Bale. I think the sight of his bare ass on big screens the world over could end all current wars and prevent any future ones.

I like the "Christian Bale Gets Naked" franchise. I would support that wholeheartedly.
I would like to know where is the Broadway version of Center Stage? Because I think we could make a snarkercon around going to see that and it would be epic.

SWIMKATA. It's be a remake of Gymkata only instead of a gymnast using his Olympic winning skills in service to his country, it'll be Michael Phelps using his swimming skills. And he can fight off the kraken or something.
I'd LOVE a BBC miniseries adaptation of The Montmaray Journals. I third or fourth the Mitford sisters series and a movie version of the The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets.
Speaking of, I WISH EVA RICE'S NEXT BOOK WOULD JUST GET PUBLISHED ALREADY! Seriously, what's the holdup?

I wish there was a "yes, please" button on this thread, because I would just be pressing it over and over. But especially all the Center Stage ideas! Christmas Center Stage? Yes, please! BROADWAY VERSION?? How does this not already exist? They have adapted practically every other movie from the 90s into a musical. I'm just going to go around shaking my head in awe for the rest of the day at this suggestion, punzy.
