How You Remind Me. Man, how old is that song anyway? I think I was in high school when it came out.

I was in my first year of university so... 2001. Damn. Is that really eleven years ago?

Damn, I was 16 back then. Craziness.

EDIT: I had to edit to add how much I hate Ellie Goulding's Lights. I just don't get the appeal of that song AT ALL.

I finally heard "Call Me Maybe" (in a Subway, no less), and it is not nearly as catchy as I was led to believe.

SO MUCH HATE for Kelly Clarkson's "Catch My Breath". It's so generic, it makes me want to scream.

I'm rather indifferent to that song myself. Generic is definitely the correct adjective for it. I don't think Kelly sets out to write anything groundbreaking, but that song is just so pedestrian and flat.

...and also, I feel like it's a total rip-off of Katy Perry's "Wide Awake", which isn't exactly groundbreaking either, but a much more digestible song. JMO.

It's my "wake up and get going" song these days. I wouldn't try to defend it as good, but it's been a total earworm for me.

Oh woah oh oh woah oh
We are all misfits living in a world on fire
Oh woah oh oh woah oh
Sing it for the people like us, the people like us

This is it. This is the song that broke me.

I'm all about the girl power and the rah rah sisterhood and standing on our own two feet as independent women. I really am. I dig Pink and know all the words to Katie Perry's "Fireworks," and blah bliddy blah.

But this is where I draw the line. Kelly, there are no people like us. You and me, we have nothing in common. If we were a Venn diagram, the circles would not touch. We are not misfits living in a world of fire. You are a multi-million dollar pop star. I am a sad cubicle drone.

Also - OMG EARWORM MAKE IT STOP!

Double-posting a whole year later.....

I hate Katy Perry's "Happy Birthday" so much that it's making me hate all of her other songs.

I almost like that song, but it's so bland to me. Most of her latest album is just awful though, in general. Dark Horse was a definite standout.

Australian songs. Not Australian music as such, but things like Waltzing Matilda and I Still Call Australia Home. Hate them.

Oooh, and in the lead-up to Australia Day they are going to be everywhere, which is what I assume inspired your post. How do you feel about Adam Hills's cover of Advance Australia Fair to the tune of 'Working Class Man'? It's pretty ocker.

It's a good one! But then you could probably put anything to a Barnsey tune and it would come out good. Dear internet: that wasn't a challenge.
