I'm still getting e-mails for new replies in thread topics even though I checked the box that said I didn't want them. anyone else still getting them?

Is the editing button not working for everyone? I only have the choice of deleting my posts, not editing them. I just noticed it an hour or so ago.

It's working for me? That is a very odd error. Try the usual tricks: log out of SF, clear your cache, quit your browser. (In that order. Don't check whether you can edit again until after you reopen your browser.)

I did do that and now in some threads I have the an edit button but no delete button (which is fine because I don't use the delete button), and on other people's posts only the quote button shows up not report or link or whatever the other button is (again not an issue because I don't use it!)

So to add to the bizarreness of it, it varies by post. If someone else has posted in the thread then I get an edit button and no delete button, if no one has I get a delete button and it changes. Like my previous post in this thread only had a delete button but after you replied it got an edit but the new one was a delete button.

Well, since the behavior changed a bit, I suspect this is local to you (unless we get more reports). The cache is usually at fault somehow. Can you repeat the steps you already did and add a reboot too? Also, you didn't recently upgrade your browser at all, did you? Even something minor?

Oh now THAT is bizarre. I just rescued it from the "Basket" where deleted threads go if they are not completely deleted. I have not been messing with the forum at all today. I placed it back in Pop Culture, which (I THINK) is where it was before.

ETA: Thinking about it, I wonder if our lordships at F-to-the-orumotion ran a spam removal script and it went a little overboard?

So just now I logged onto Snarkfest (old-fashioned and inaccurate term: I was already logged in, but you know what I mean), and there was a brief glimpse of all my unread posts, but then I clicked on the first subforum and all the new posts were un-new.

No big deal...nothing to fix, p_p, but I'm just anally reporting it here in case it becomes more of an issue.

(This glitch has nothing on an entire thread self-deleting, though. I think that took the cake for Strangest Damn Thing we've seen so far.)

This has happened to me a few times, too. I thought it was my browser.

You know that start of month logout thing? Last month, it didn't happen. But this month, it did. Strange.

Any hypothetical "monthly logout thing" is not to be discussed, Ms. Wolf. I'm sure you appreciate that Snarkem is...unstable and such talk could have effects. Bad effects. On you in particular, Ms. Wolf. I believe I can depend on you to keep quiet about this.

Just thought I'd mention that I went back to Forumer to look for an old post of mine, and MY GOD is it slow. Granted, there's no need for Forumer to pay close attention to it now that we're not there, but I assume other people are still on 15.

Now I'm gritting my teeth and reloading over and over again in hopes it will connect one more time so I can log out (it was a post in the non-fame section; I was trying to remember when something had happened that I knew I had posted about), because I don't want to just stay logged in forever, and I'm getting "Chrome could not connect" and "This webpage is unavailable."

I hadn't been back to the old board in ages. After reading IM's post, I went to the homepage out of curiosity. I noticed this:

Maybe there's something about the way these boards work that I just don't understand, but that really jumped out.

Since we're all over here, that's bizarre. I have to assume their software and/or hardware is just so screwed up at this point that it's giving incorrect info. We really could not have stayed there much longer.

That...is very weird. I didn't notice that. Maybe some teenagers had a rave there after it we abandoned it. DAMN INTERNET TEENAGERS!

All the threads are locked! It would have been a very boring rave. "Yeah, man, let's sneak into these locked threads. On the count of three, we all rush at the link! One...Two...OWWW!"

Was Forumotion doing something over the last couple of days? I couldn't access Forumotion at all.

Yup, although they seem to have fixed it now. Are you on the Snarkfest FB and LJ? People post these things there when the site isn't working.
