I love that he's getting recognition in the US! He has such a beautiful voice and he puts on an amazing show.

For me, it's MIA's latest -- Bad Girls. SO GOOD.

I just heard that MIA song for the first time today on my way home from jury duty, and it is AWESOME.

Somebody That I Used To Know has been like crack to me since December. Such a cool, weird vibe to it. I almost can't believe it actually gets airplay because it's so different from all other songs you usually hear on the radio.

I just heard Glad You Came by The Wanted for the first time two days ago, and it will not leave my head.

I've heard that song twice on the radio and am still not sure whether or not I like it. It's definitely catchy though!

Savage Garden's song... the one where they sound like they're singing "Chicken cheery cola"... played on my ipod a few days ago and it's been stuck in my brain ever since.

I looked: the song is "I Want You."

That goddamn "We Are Young" song, aka the date-rapiest song since "Baby It's Cold Outside. UGH.

Ha, yeah my niece loves that song ("we need to update your iPod with young hip songs") and it IS quite anthemic musically speaking, but it would be neither the first nor the last song I've been hooked on that has totally fucked up lyrics. (OH HAI "Your Love")

Mika's "Grace Kelly" shuffled up on my iPod this afternoon, and now I'm stuck with it.

Why is the Wanted's Glad You Came not played much in the L.A. area? That song has the dumbest lyrics, but damn if it ain't infectious!

Definitely late to the party, but a coworker introduced me to this last week, and I've been listening to it practically nonstop ever since. It's so awesome, but I'm afraid I'm going to ruin it for myself.

Count me in on the naivete camp. It took me forever to realize that Monica's first hit, Don't Take It Personal, is likely alluding to a young lady PMS-ing.

"Baby It's Cold Outside" is actually one of my favorite holiday songs. I was being tongue in cheek, because god knows a line like "Say, what's in this drink?" would never fly today.

Basically, I see the narrative of "We Are Young" as "Hey, I know we hooked up and you don't have any interest in me, but I'm just going to hang out until you're too drunk to get yourself home and then go with you, okay?" Which...yeah, that's romantic...I guess.

Oh my LORD I saw Bob Geldof's name in some article and now I have "Do They Know It's Christmas" stuck in my head.

I think to me We Are Young is more pathetic then Date Rapey. Like I don't like the song actually, but I got more of a vibe of "I know you don't like, but if you wanna hook up again, I will."
