I can't stop listening to Natsumi Abe's "Koi no Hana". I don't usually care for Nacchi's non-Morning Musume stuff, but this is so cute I can't help loving it.

I've been listening to nothing but '90s R&B this whole week, thanks in part to the Brandy Behind the Music special on VH1 last week!

Re: What Are You Listening To?
I have been living in my 90s-music-loving glory these last few days. My fave band No Doubt announced their first new album in 11 years will be released on Sept. 25 (!!!!!) and I proceeded to have a fangirl meltdown on Twitter. So naturally I've been listening to them a lot and then today they released a webisode that previewed a new song called "Push and Shove". I only know a few lines of lyrics so I just keep singing that over and over and over.
Also today I discovered my other fave 90s band Garbage's new album is streaming on Spin.com. I'm listening to it now and I love it. Just hearing Shirley's lovely voice again is, well, lovely. It's here if anyone else wants to give a listen.

My son introduced me to Steam Powered Giraffe a few days ago and now I can't stop watching/listening to Honeybee or Brass Goggles. Another thing that makes me miss San Diego.

New Order's Thieves Like Us, my favorite song of theirs. I needed this after a fairly crappy day.

You Me Bullets Love by Australian band The Bombay Royale, Bollywood inspired surf music. Love it!
Re: What Are You Listening To?
I'm trying to listen to Yeasayer's Odd Blood album bit by bit. I can never seem to get past "Ambling Alp" though cuz it's too awesome, so I just end up putting it on replay over and over again.

Marina and the Diamonds How to be a Heartbreaker, which is absolute pop perfection. I love the whole Electra Heart album too - so jealous of my friend who got to see her in Cardiff recently, since she isn't stopping by Texas on her tour.

Re: What Are You Listening To?
I heard Walkaway Joe by Trisha Yearwood on the radio this afternoon and was reminded how much I like that song and how I pretty much adore Don Henley's harmonies in everything he does. But in pulling up the youtube video tonight, I just now realized that the video features a very young Matthew McConaughey! Who knew?

I am officially really into the Ellie Goulding album. I listened to it three times in a row one day at work.

The Lumineers' self-titled debut is pretty good and mellow. If you like Mumford and Sons, you'll probably dig the Lumineers.

Re: What Are You Listening To?
I got the special edition of Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Caballe's album Barcelona, which is basically all the faux orchestra keyboard effects replaced with a real orchestra. I had only heard the title track before and somehow assumed that the rest was just filler, but I'm actually really loving it. Well done, Freddie, quite a step up from Mr Bad Guy.

I'll totally agree with that. I downloaded The Lumineers last month when it was $5 on Amazon and I'm really enjoying it.
NPR First Listen has Aimee Mann's new album, "Charmer" today.

Listening to Bananarama on YouTube. Catchy, fluffy stuff from back in the day!

In 24 hours I watched both Warrior and Pitch Perfect, which means I spent the rest of the weekend alternating between broody The National songs and trying not to weep openly and catchy a capella covers and trying not to dance in front of windows where the neighbors can see me. My mood has been all over the freaking place.

Ke$ha's Die Young is my jam right now. I can't wait for her new album to drop! Other than that, I just keep One Direction and Michael Bublé on constant rotation because they perk me up a bit when I'm feeling like shit.
EDIT: My 1000th comment involved Ke$ha and 1D! No shame in my game!

Re: What Are You Listening To?
Christina Aguilera's new album is disappointing to me. I was expecting more but instead it's more loud singing over even louder beats. Someone needs to sit that girl down and explain that she doesn't have to yell and the digital pop beats do not work with her voice. Maybe try something acoustic Christina.

I do enjoy Your Body though. I may or may not sing it while chair dancing on my way to work.

Re: What Are You Listening To?
It's a little scary how much I listen to One Direction's latest album, Take Me Home. It's even scarier that I can usually identify which guy is singing what parts, and that I get inordinately happy whenever I hear Louis singing.
