Re: Celebrity Weddings
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married. Good for them for having it slip under the radar.

I can't believe they were able to keep it such a secret especially since they got their marriage license in California. Wow, good for them.
Now I need pics to leak!

Re: Celebrity Weddings
They've had great success selling pictures and giving the money to their foundation, so I expect they'll do the same here. I want to see them, too. That said, I can't believe how old their twins are. I could have sworn they were younger...time flies.

I really hope it was a Disney-princess paintball wedding.

Forget about Angie's dress, I want to see the kids' clothes. Little kids in formal wear = the best.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
I wonder if there was even formal wear? Some part of me assumed it was a Zuckerberg-style backyard do, well, in the backyard of a 35-room estate, but still more "kids told us what to wear" than glitz and glamour.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
Oh, I wasn't expecting Academy Awards-and-Emmys style glitz from the kids. I'm hoping more for Disney princess dress-up style formal wear. Or for Shiloh, maybe a white jumpsuit for paintball (like Julia Stiles in 10 Things I Hate About You). Either way, I'm sure when they release pics, it'll be awesome!
I am really pulling for this family and a good portion of why is because of the kids.

Left to her own devices, Jolie would probably wear a black caftan, black skinny jeans, and black stilettos.

I can and can't believe they actually managed to get away with an under-the-radar wedding. Good for them!

Re: Celebrity Weddings
I've always had the feeling that celebrities at this level of fame are not at the mercy of the press - it's the other way around. Nothing gets out unless they want it to. That's how Nicole Kidman kept the surrogate pregnancy of her second daughter under wraps, that's how Angelina kept her mastectomy private until she was ready to announce it. They are totally in control, and they know exactly what they are doing. It's a whole different level up from Reese Witherspoon's Parking Lot Parade or Taylor Swift's Gym Walk Sashay, but it's part of the same game. The celebs are complicit in that they tell the photogs when to show up, and we are complicit by purchasing the magazines where the photos appear.
Good on them for keeping it private and all about the kids, although I would never expect a full-on spectacle of a celebration, either.

She looks lovely and I am really touched by the incorporating of her kids art.
I'm not sure if i'm a fan of the look, but she looks very happy.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
Yeah, the drawings as part of the dress was a terrific idea. The dress itself is beautiful, and the drawings give the whole thing a wonderful whimsy and humour.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
The drawings are well done - they definitely could have looked tacky. But frankly, she's so ridiculously beautiful that it would take a really bad white dress to make her look bad.

I...don't like the drawings on the dress. I think they look bad. Sweet idea, but...no. Just, no.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
If it were anyone else, I'd probably think it was cheesy and scoff at the whole production. But I don't know...something about this seems so sweet and right. I'm glad their kids got in on the design and planning. That's their parents getting married and it's to Angelina and Brad's credit that they gave them free reign to do whatever their little hearts desired. I liked it.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
I think the dress itself is pretty boring. IDK, I guess I expected something a little more interesting than run-of-the-mill white dress with a bunch of kiddie drawings on it.
I know, my heart is made of stone.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
Aw, I love the dress both the cut, that it has straps if not sleeves, and the kids artwork being incorporated into the design. So cute, and definitely unique and special to them which is pretty much who counts.
Re: Celebrity Weddings
Even though I don't like the drawings on the dress, I kind of love that the House of Versace actually custom made a gown reliant on kids' doodles. There's something perfectly Angelina about that.
But I wish she'd just kept the drawings to the veil. I think that would've been the perfect balance. As is, it goes a little over to the tacky side for me.
On the other hand, I love Zahara and Vivienne's dresses.
And this pic is my fave. The kiss, the giggles...too cute.

Re: Celebrity Weddings
I like the drawings, but I would have kept them off the veil, maybe. And I think the cut of the dress is classic and flattering, but all white just looks funny to me on her in particular. Her career has been made playing Goths. But the girls look amazing! And Brad shaved and exfoliated, bless him.
I am not a huge fan of them as a couple, but it is bumming me out that all of this discussion is in the Divorce Pool thread. One of the most highly anticipated wedding of the decade, it finally happened, it's big! I'd rather see it all chucked into on of their personal threads, maybe?

Agreed, Themis! Or maybe the Celebrity Couples thread?
(I personally love the dress, and the kiss photo makes me happy, especially because of how happy the kids are.)

I agree--it's weird how wedding announcements end up in the Divorce thread, even when there's no immediate reason to assume the marriage is doomed. It would definitely be nice to move this discussion somewhere a little less ominous!
Also, I think the drawings on the dress are adorable, and now that I see them I'm like, "Of course she did that!"

Why not create a 'Celebrity Weddings' thread?

Celebrity Weddings
From the modest to the outlandish to the 'it's fairly obvious we're only getting married for the free presents and the chance to throw a mega-expensive party featured in a magazine to be named later'; let's talk about celebrity weddings!
Can we move the discussions about the Brangelina wedding in here? It will take someone with mad admin skillz.
