Nikita (2010)
I have to say I like the Nikita/Michael/Birkoff trio that's formed in the second season. Birkoff brings the snark and prevents Nikita/Michael from getting too sweet a/o serious. "You guys need to learn to turn off the comms". Hehe. On a shallow note, Nikita's hair is looking like crap this season. I know she's busy doing the revenge/rescue thing, but I'm sure that even former russian republics have hairsalons.
And Alex's position as a free agent/sometimes Division agent makes the whole thing more interesting than a straight up "Nikita lied to me, so I must kill her". I wonder how much longer they'll keep Percy in the basement and Amanda in charge.

Re: Nikita (2010)
See I love the Alex aspect of the story, especially the idea that under Amanda/Division's influence she'll just become the new head of her father's organization, but I still struggle mightily with Shane West as Michael. I think he has zero chemistry with Maggie and so much of this season is about buying into him as a the bad ass spy and the Nikita/Michael relationship. I actually like clean cut flash back Michael better, West just doesn't have the gravitas to pull this character off, all the five o'clock shadow beard growing in the world isn't gonna sell it.
It's especially laughable when they continue to tease/dangle Hot Owen three or four times a season who actually is scorching with Nikita, and is way way more interesting than Michael.

I like Micheal, and I like Owen, but my fave thing about this show is that... they're like really great pairs of earrings. They're pretty, and fun, and I enjoy them, but they don't make the outfit. The badass hbic women are the outfit.

I just burned through the first season DVDs and am pretty much hooked. It fills that Alias shaped void in my life. I like Michael with Nikita, but miss him growling around Division. Percy in the basement is all kinds of awesome, as is Amanda and her outfits.

I'm so glad David Keith wasn't Nikita's daddy, I was like is there a guy who looks less like Maggie Q?
I thought it was a good way to trigger her reveal about Max being Michael's kid, ironically this is the episode that finally sold me on their relationship. Forget how unbelievably dumb it is that he didn't bag it for a hooker mission. Anyway please to be bangin Owen now Niki, he is so very into you big time.
Loved Berkoff getting to be a badass, and promising to re-establish a rebel base. Also I'm amazed at how much more fun Percy is as Hannibal Lector, than he was as Division HBIC.

Now that Percy has nothing to do with his time but to sit around and think, he's become a great villian. I guess last season he was just too distracted with having to interact with people. But put him in a Magento box and he becomes a chessmaster.

Re: Nikita (2010)
Oooh so Alex's mama is alive and sleeping with her Daddy's enemy most like? Hmmm. I love all the Guardian/Percy/Amanda intrigue.
Man was Maggie rocking some CRAP hair in this last episode, and all her emo was ruining my Owen/Nikita fun (but not much). Dreamy sigh, OWEN, dreamy sigh. Look show I accept that Mikita is your whole boring ball of wax, but please just let my ship have some crazy hot I love you/I hate you sex while they destroy/take down Gogol. Trying to chain yank me that Owen betrayed her, was lame (because C'MON he's gaga for her and he would *never*), as was having him call Michael after he just encouraged her to give up on him. For why and for how did he even have Michael's number? Whatever as long he's back in the January eps I'll be there!

Re: Nikita (2010)
The board ate my post :(
It'll be interesting to see where the "Alex's mother is still alive" is going. It has to at least complicate her wanting to kill Semak.
I dislike the secret child plot. A lot of times, writers fall back on the pregnancy/baby plot out of lazyness. I appreciate that they want to create "adult" hurdles for Michael & Nikita's relationship, but I too question how you could do a honeytrap mission and have unprotected sex. Forget the pregnancy part, what about HIV and the various STD's you could contract?
Both Nikita's and Michael's hair looks crap this season, so at least they're united in that.

I think we're supposed to take their horrible hair as an indication of their broken, conflicted hearts. Once they start having good hair again, we'll know their relationship is back on track.

Re: Nikita (2010)
Really stellar season 2 thus far, bad hair-dos notwithstanding. Alex's fabulous hair balances things out.
I liked the Owen-to-Nikita pep talk and their discussion about embracing their natural born killer side and using their powers for good. Owens' crush on Nikita is so cute, but he's kind of crazy so I was totally surprised by the reveal that he called Michael for help.
I can't wait for the Alex and Nikita stories to collide. They make this show for me. I've missed their Xena/Gabrielle vibey fun but their separation this season has been paying off so far.

Nikita has really hit it's stride this season! It's must see tv for me lately.

Re: Nikita (2010)
HOT OWEN becomes series regular in season 3. Fuck yes, I was getting bored of the show and it's focus on a couple I don't think is that hot or interesting together (I was so hopeful giving Michael a son would break them up for a longer time than it did), so throwing Owen back in the mix full time is just what I needed to hear to keep watching!
Re: Nikita (2010)
Marathoned both seasons, and I could kick myself for not watching it before now. It's going to be a long wait until the season premiere. Loved the callback to the first-season opening narration, in that "Nikita" was the last thing that Percy said before he quite literally fell.
