Anyone else watch it last night?
I was seriously SO HAPPY to hear the "beep ... beep ... beepitybeepitybeepbeepbeep" again. Not to mention "The following events occur in real time", which (I think) they haven't used since Season 1.

I did not realize how much I missed Jack glaring and growling at everyone until last night.

Re: 24
I squeed at the first "Dammit!", even though it was from Benjamin Bratt. Jack got his turn later. :)

Re: 24
I'm astounded that 24-verse America has had ten presidents in the time period that we've actually had two.
Re: 24
Me too me too! I did not make it through a full season of 24 past season 4 or 5, but I gave it a shot every year because of my undying love for Jack Bauer and an eternal fondness for the show overall. I'm already doubting my ability to get thorough all of this, but since it's a short season I stand a decent chance.Shalamar wrote:I was seriously SO HAPPY to hear the "beep ... beep ... beepitybeepitybeepbeepbeep" again
I was just really happy to hear Jack shout demands at people and then say thank you. He says thank you a lot for such a badass. I'm super into the cast this time, too. Sarah from Chuck! Stephen Fry! Tate Donovan and Benjamin Bratt! I could live without Audrey though, because she was my least favorite Bauer girlfriend.

Hee hee, I thought the same thing. I wonder if that's got anything to do with Kiefer being Canadian (although Jack Bauer is as American as they come).
I can't stand Audrey either. I'd rather have Nina back. Too bad that won't happen.

Re: 24
I was excited that Tate Donovan's character's last name is Boudreau, which is my maiden name. The only other time I've ever seen it in a movie or TV was Shirley MacLaine's character in Steel Magnolias and that wasn't the same (Boudreaux). I was gleeful over Jack's "Dammit!". Oh 24. I have missed you so.

Nina died in Season 3, right?
I imagine they went and figured out which characters from earlier seasons were still alive, and found only Heller and Audrey. (And I read somewhere they only realized Heller was still alive from reading the 24 wiki.) I mean, what early-season characters are still out there? Naked Mandy?
Re: 24
I'm pretty sure Tony is still alive. Crazy and in jail, but alive.

I thought he died at the end of S7.
Frankly, most of the show is just a blur of twists, traitors and gunfire in my memory.
That said, I kind of want Naked Mandy to be the grand mastermind behind everything at the end of this season.

Naked Mandy! I forgot all about her!
What about Milo the Killer Temp? Is he still alive? (My memory is terrible.)

Me too! It's my last name! When I saw my sister a few nights after the episode, the first thing I told her was, "Guess what? Tate Donovan's in the new season of 24 and his last name is Boudreau! No x!" Her response was that she has basically been waiting for this moment her whole life. Boudreaus are serious about their name, I guess.slmader wrote:I was excited that Tate Donovan's character's last name is Boudreau, which is my maiden name. I honestly cannot remember what happened to Tony. I thought he was dead, but if you told me he wasn't, I'd believe you.

Re: 24
If I remember correctly, in season 7, Tony went crazy and was trying to get revenge on the people responsible for Michelle's death. At first he seemed to be helping Jack, but then started murdering folks. He ended up in jail. Totally ready for a comeback now so we can all yell "TONY" when he shows up...
