Celebrities: Having Babies, Naming Babies

Gaia was a consort of Uranus, Zeus and Poseidon. Depending on which story you follow, he was born of Rhea but raised by Gaia and fathered two sons with her, Orion and I cant remember the other one. Gaia was mother to the Titans with Uranus but, being Mother Earth, gave birth to more than two dozen other deities, either alone or with others. She was very busy.

Harmony Korine, writer/director of Spring Breakers, apparently named his daughter Lefty Bell. Ugh.

Peanut and Lefty Bell? That's definitely Audio Science/Pilot Inspektor levels of badness.

Don't forget Penn Jillette's daughter, Moxie Crimefighter. I think that might actually be the worst.

I hate myself for NOT hating Pilot Inspektor. I know it's a dumb name, but I also find it cute. I think the "k" in Inspektor make the spelling charming. Now I'll go see myself out. Sorry for crashing the name-hating party. *hangs head in shame*

That's OK, whatthedeuce. I'll confess that I like Moxie Crimefighter. I think a girl named Moxie isn't going to let a lot of things in life push her around.

Yeah, that one's actually quite adorable, too. I'd never actually dare name a child anything that bizarre, but I quite like it and find it whimsical. The Crimefighter bit is a tad too much, but I don't object at all to the name Moxie as a stand-alone.

I quite enjoy this name. I kind of wish it were my name.

I like both Moxie Crimefighter and Pilot Inspketor.

Ahhh, it seems a few of us weird name lovers are coming out of the woodwork! I feel less strange about thinking those names charming now.

Probably totally not true, but The Sun says Kim and Kanye will be naming their baby North.

I actually love looking at that word, come to think of it, so North is actually kinda cool. Also, North West doesn't really lead to much, joke-wise.. It's just a direction, but no funny words.

I don't know. I think South would be much worse cuz you could make Dirty South and sexual innuendo jokes. North West just sounds dumb, but not especially joke-worthy. I can be very obtuse though so...

I think there are MORE jokes to be made about "South West", but that doesn't mean there aren't an epic ton of jokes to make about "North West".


That said, I'd bet more on "Knorth West".

And here I was hoping for Witchada.

I just hope some other couple who are expecting right now are also planning on naming their kid North. And that that kid and Kanye's and Kim's kid go to the same school and get assigned desks next to each other. Then their classmates will get to see North by North West.

They could name future children Wild and Go.

The nicest thing I could think to say about North as a name was "at least it's a word."

Yes, but "Knorth" is not, so I can totally imagine that this would be their choice. That plus the whole obnoxious "K" tradition.

To her credit though, Kourtney's kids are named Mason and Penelope, with nary a K to be found. Not sure Kim and Kanye will go that route, but they might. Kourtney, despite being partnered with evil Lord Disick, seems to realize that all this might be fleeting though, in a way that I don't think Kim or Kris Jenner do.

Well Kourtney already ruined the streak by having kids with someone who doesn't have a K name. :p It can't be a coincidence that Kim's sham marriage was to a Kris and now she's having a baby with Kanye.

I don't know if Kim is seeking out guys with K names--if Reggie Bush would have had her back she wouldn't have given a rip--but she probably sees the guy having a K name as a major "sign" they are meant to be, when in reality it has nothing to do with how well the actual relationship will go.

"Friends" say Baby Kimye (reportedly a girl) won't be named North.
