Apologies if this has already been posted (I searched), but when I'm feeling down and troubled, I go to Terrible Real Estate Agent Photos. Then I laugh until I cry. It's sort of like Awkward Family Photos for property.

All I'm getting from this is that The League totally stole Rafi's kitchen/bathroom spigot hole from European real estate listings. And if you Europeans care to take something from Rafi, take all those garden chairs of solitude and make them load bearing.

I would bet money that this room and this patio come from the same house. At least, I hope they do because if not that means there is more than one person with that design "aesthetic" in this world.

I could definitely submit to this site. Looking at flats to rent in a university town, it's amazing how many photos are of kitchens with dirty dishes and bedrooms covered in laundry.

The only reason I'm quite sure that's not a crime scene is that they clean up crime scenes. But why would you photograph your house looking like one? So many questions.

I'm posting this everywhere. Some British linguist and polyglot diagrammed the negotiation patterns of various cultures. Not sure why I find it so hilarious, and have no idea how accurate it is. But as I posted on FB, I love how the Australians begin with tea and coffee and and end as mates. And imagining a negotiation between Finns and Italians according to the diagrams is straight up comedy. Good to know that for Americans (I am one), "A fight is communication." And the Singaporean "softening up" phase is funny in print, though I suspect many cultures have their own versions of the softening up phase (tickets to sporting events in the US, or at least general sports chat, for which I am grateful that most of my negotiations are done remotely from home so that I can Google things (chat about "the Rangers" got me confused once, because I didn't realize that they were both a hockey team and a baseball team)).

Google is running a series of World-Cup-themed animated Doodles, and they're charming. The one during the US-Ghana match had two eagles, one in US colors and one in Ghana's, kicking a ball back and forth. The current Doodle honors the late psychic octopus Paul.

The Austen connections are very interesting, but if Pemberley is based on that, I'm disappointed in her taste. I had envisaged an architectural wonder based on the description in the book.
