I don't know what half their songs are talking about, but I do love them. The new album sounds amazing.

So, it's not just me then. Were there, in fact, Roman cavalry choirs?

I have no idea what that song's about, either. I just know I love it.

Hee, I love that song, and can sing along to the entire thing, and the other day I really listened to myself and realized I was mushing through half the words because I didn't know what they were. I knew just how to mumble around them, and had never really noticed that I wasn't saying words, but I wasn't actually saying anything that made sense, for a good bit of it.

Also, I always thought it was "I know St. Peter will call my name," which was all hopeful and stuff, but then I found it was "I know St. Peter won't call my name," which is, um, the opposite. Probably more fitting, but more of a bummer. Oh well.

Hee, now I'm never going to hear that song without wondering about Roman cavalry choirs.
Chris Martin was adorable on The Colbert Report last week. Though I am convinced he has some sort of Benjamin Button disease, because he appears to be aging backwards.

Actually, I think that at the beginning of the song it's "I know St Peter won't call my name" and then for the last chorus it changes to "I know St Peter will call my name". Because he doesn't rule the world anymore?

I'm anxious to acquire and hear the new album in its entirety. I still haven't been able to get into "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," but I heard "Paradise" for the first time on The Colbert Report and I LOVE IT.

I think it's Roman Catholic choirs, with the "o" really over-pronounced in a very English way? Will always hear it as cavalry from now on.

The video for the new song Paradise is adorable - Chris Martin on a unicycle! Dressed as an elephant! I completely believe he plays the elephant all the way through.

That was one of the songs they played at Steve Jobs' memorial on the Apple campus. Oddly apropos. (I wasn't there but have lots of friends at Apple.)

I like the new album, but wikipedia says it is about two people named Mylo and Xyloto who meet in a dystopian future and fall in love, and I find that annoyingly pretentious and it's kind of messing things up for me.

The first few times I heard the tune, I thought it was "Roman Catholic choirs," too, everytime I looked up the lyrics, I saw "Roman cavalry choirs" and realized that's actually what Chris seems to be singing. Even if it doesn't make much sense. Or any sense.

Chris was on a local station last week saying that he used to own a unicycle, and his dad said that if he ever ran out of ideas (or something to that effect), he could always fall back on unicycling. Well, Chris didn't know what to do for the new vid, so he listened to his dear dad and just decided to give the unicycle a spin for old times' sake!

Wow, I really thought it was Catholic. That's such a strange lyric. Oh well, any excuse to listen to the song a couple more times to figure it out.

The story about the unicycle is brilliant.
