Pottermore

Since the old snarkfest threads seem to be dead and gone forever, would anyone mind posting their pottermore names again? I never got around to adding the snarkfest handle as a nickname. I have LeviosaMidnight, SeekerFlight, SnichMarauder, SpiritUnicorn, WildOwl, and WolfsbaneOwl.

I haven't been on it as much since I've explored all of the chapters, but I'm giving potions another try. Antidote to Common Potions is now 35% complete, so I've got about another hour to kill. Has anyone owned more than one cauldren at once? I bought another on (brass...fancy) with the hope of being able to brew potions simultaneously, but it doesn't seem to be letting me get another potion started, even though I have all of the ingredients and an available potion. I hope that's just a bug that will get fixed, because the long waiting times won't be so bad if I can time it to have multiple potions going at the same time.

eta: ...and the potion failed. It said I added the wrong amount of mistletoe berries, yet that item was crossed out on my instructions as if it was complete. Granted, I did spill about 8 berries all over the table trying to figure out how to pick up the jar and drop them in, but still. My potion should have worked! D: Oh well.

I own all three cauldrons, because what else do I have to spend money on right now? It seems to make no difference at all which you use, and no, you can't brew more than one potion at once.

I'm HollyNight148. Have they announced a new live date for the site? I thought it was supposed to open sometime in October, but the main page says it's still in beta.

I've pretty much stopped going. I can't make potions because they always reset after the (ridiculously long) brew time finishes and as far as I know, dueling is still down, so I don't really see the point.

QueenLeviosa183. Have they opened the other books yet? Otherwise, yeah, I don't really have anything to do on that site because I hate potion making and I already collected all of the chocolate frog cards.

No new books are open, and they have not opened the site officially yet. They said they are extending the beta...and they haven't said how long.

Maybe they're extending the beta period due to bugs like the one that made my cauldron melt even though I know turned the heat off. (I will say one thing in Pottermore's potions' favor: the level of frustration and challenge has got to pretty perfectly mimic being in a class taught by Severus Snape.)

I'm WildOwl81, by the way, but I haven't been on Pottermore much lately (way less internet time than I used to have, and I've already explored most everything so far. And I need to get around to buying a new cauldron before I attempt to make any more potions).

Right there with you. A few of my friends are in, and it makes me sad.

That's a cool username. I wish they at least let us generate more options for the forced username selection. Mine was the best of what I was offered.

Validation took a few hours for me. They said they're trying to pace it so the servers aren't overwhelmed.

Yeah, it was the only one that didn't sound like a forest creature. I am now validated, but have to wait for permission to explore. Sigh. I wanna play!

I got sorted into Slytherin. Which I'm okay with on a general level - if you think about what the house's description is and not the sort of people who are like "Ooh ooh I'm a Slytherin" in an emo, annoying sort of way. (Think Draco bartending in the dark.) JKR did tell us that Merlin was a Slytherin though. So go us! (I picture Merlin from the BBC series when picturing him at Hogwarts.) I do think if I had answered the last question another way I would have ended up in Ravenclaw.
