I'm a little bit obsessed with Churchill's Change right now.

I can't wait to hear Bruno Mars's sophomore album. "Locked Out of Heaven" is a brilliant song, IMO.

I'm on a huge Beck kick right now. Just downloaded "Mutations" and can't believe I forgot what an amazing album it is.

dinahmoe, a couple of weeks ago, I listened to Sea Change for the first time in a few years (somehow I lost the physical CD before I ever uploaded it onto iTunes), and I realized that it's in my top 10 albums. Totally underrated and should be included in any list of great breakup albums.

Re: What Are You Listening To?
Sea Change is great, but I think I have rough time with it in retrospect because it brought Beck more fully into the Cult of Kaching Co$, since when he was with Leigh Limon he seemed to make efforts to distance himself from them, and after their break up he married one and embraced it whole hog. OH wow I had no idea Beck's mom delivered his wife? Oy.
Re: What Are You Listening To?
I find myself quite enjoying Pink's latest album, The Truth About Love. The song with Nate Whathisface from fun. sounds so much like a Broadway number, and "Slut Like You" is jut ridiculous pop fun. "Try" is my fave though. I can't hear that song without wanting to bawl at least a little.

"Pirate Jenny" by Shilpa Ray, from the Son of Rogues Gallery compilation. It's basically seven and a half minutes of snarling, bitchy awesomeness (aside from Nick Cave's backing vocals, which are so quiet and subdued that he may as well not even be there). The whole album is pretty great, but that song is one of my favorites.

I have been listening to nothing but the new Tegan and Sara for about two weeks. :B

Just ran across "Valkyrie Daughter" by SJ Tucker again and now I'm sobbing all over my computer. She wrote it for a friend whose daughter died in a car accident and it makes me cry like a little child every time.

I just downloaded it, Menshevixen, and am looking forward to giving it a try! I saw T&S when they opened for the Black Keys last year, and their music was not was I expecting. It was really fun and catchy!

Been in a Clapton mood, and listening to his 1980 live album Just One Night, which is one of my favorites. Worried Life Blues, All Our Past Times, Cocaine - great tracks.

So this song is....not great, fairly generic club fare, but the video is hilarious. Watch it all the way through (if you want, it's more of a suggestion than an order really, if you want a laugh).

Really digging Tegan and Sara's Heartthrob now that I've listened to it a few times. They have this true sincerity in every song even though it's apparently poppier and more upbeat than their previous work, if I've heard right.

Justin Timberlake's new album on iTunes. Obsessed with "Tunnel Vision" and "Don't Hold The Wall"!

Same. My favorites are "Mirrors", "Pusher Love Girl", and "Don't Hold the Wall". Thank you for leaving the acting biz for now, JT.

Streamed it like twice. Love Pusher Love Girl and Don't Hold the Wall. The interludes are also amazing -- it's like the album is an experience that you have to listen to straight through to get it instead of a collection of singles.
And I seriously think this is some baby-makin' music.

My youngest sis will not shut up about "Mirrors" ever since she heard it a week ago.

Streaming it again now and I've added "Let the Groove Get In" to my faves. Repetitive, yes, but so so SO catchy.
Also, I've been watching "Timberweek" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon all week and JT performed that song the other night with his band and The Roots (who are all adorable, of course) and it was a lot of fun. It's here. I've had the song stuck in my head for two days now.

Re: What Are You Listening To?
I finally bought the soundtrack to About a Boy and have been playing it non-stop. It's only my favourite movie / go to movie for when I am feeling low, so it's fitting that after 10 yrs, I would buy the soundtrack.
That music is incredible and I find it uplifting and can not get enough.

Re: What Are You Listening To?
I've got the soundtrack as well and I LOVE it. It reminds me of a very specific period in my life when I listened to it over and over again. And it's funny that you'd buy it now because it reminds me of very early spring. :)
Oddly enough, I bought another Badly Drawn Boy album and I couldn't really get into it at all. There are just a couple songs on the About a Boy soundtrack that I have a sort of visceral dislike reaction to, and I basically had that reaction to almost all the songs on the other album. So, it remains one enjoyable album for me. That's all right.
I had the Monsoon Wedding soundtrack on heavy play at the same time, so I always think of those two together.
I should buy more soundtracks. It's like a director's mixtape.

When I bought it on iTunes the other day, I noticed it was released in the Spring 2012, so it's quite a fitting Spring album!

Re: What Are You Listening To?
So I found myself listening to viking metal band Gwydion. And I thought I heard a familiar riff. Around 1.10 or just after in this track, I think I hear a bit of U2's One Love. Anyone else hear that?

Re: What Are You Listening To?
There's definitely something familiar there, but I can't put my finger on it. Then again I suck at that sort of thing, I can never guess the songs on that Spicks and Specks segment where the contestants either sing passages from books, or have to guess the song when the weird busker-type bands play them.

Maybe a little bit like Metallica's "Enter Sandman"?
