Brooklyn 99
Anyone else watching this hilarious, delightful show besides me? C'mon, I wanna talk about Captain Ray Holt - or, should I say, Captain Sex Vibes? Wassup.

In a certain frame of mind, Holt is Pembleton.

I love this show too, so much. It started fairly strong, but got so much better as the season wore on. I will miss it for the next six months.

I love this show too. I really hope it comes back, but I think the ratings are a bit anemic.

It was already picked up for Season 2. And with the awards recognition, I don't think it's in much danger for the time being.

I love this show, and Terry Crews is my new favorite person. Â He's been making the rounds on podcasts and radio interviews, and he seems like an awesome person IRL.
I'm glad for the accolades, but I would not have put Andy Samberg as the best actor on the show. Â He's good and so less annoying than I would have thought, but his comedic chops don't compare to the others IMHO.

I agree that Samberg is by no means the strongest actor on the show. But the one thing he does bring is that loud, upbeat, happy energy that I think the show really needs. Melissa Fumero brings it too, in a Type-A perky people pleaser way. All the characters just put a smile on my face, really.

I'm completely enjoying this show, although I don't really care about the Jake/Amy thing. But it makes sense that it's got the same producers as Parks and Recreation, because it's got that same quality of warmth and affection towards its characters.
At least once every episode I think Andre Braugher is so funny. How is he so funny? Such a good dramatic actor and such a good comic actor? Unfair!

I loved when Holt demonstrated how to say "sorry" and sound sincere to Diaz, neither acknowledging their dead pan lack of sincerity.
Terry Crews is the stand out to me, but I think the ensemble as gelled really well. Even Chelsea Peretti has dialed it back enough not to bug me, and I love Melissa Gallo Fumero going back to OLTL, seeing her really carry of the goof ball physical comedy is great.

This show is fantastic - my only personal dislike is the hints they might follow through with Boyle and Rosa, and I'd prefer not.

Terry: *menacingly* Do any of you have a problem with my minivan? *normal voice* Because my wife does, too. She wants an SUV. But they roll! They ROLL!

I think my favorite episode was the episode where Boyle was on pain killers. (Francie!) It showed Holt as less than perfect, and Boyle's zingers were spot on.

They had 4 or 6 episodes of B99 available on a flight I was on and I binge watched it. It is delightful. All the actors are perfect (esp. Braugher. So much love!) but for some reason my favorites have become the two old useless cops. They use them just enough.

Re: Brooklyn 99
I've only been watching 3 sitcoms these days (well, 2, since the Mindy Project is on hiatus), and this is one of them (Parks & Rec is the other). I think my favorite episode is the one where they all go to a party at Holt's house, and they all have to act socially normal. Andre Braugher is the best. I love that he is "the funny one" between him and his husband.
Terry Crews' as devoted daddy is adorable, and his character's twin girls are the cutest. Plus they are named Cagney and Lacey.
"I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry." etc.

Terry Crews is killing it on this show. So is Andre Braugher, but I expected that because he's Pembleton, dude. But Terry Crews is knocking it out of the park. The episode with Holt's birthday party where he was trying to wrangle the precinct was my favorite yet.

I love and adore this show. And I wouldn't mind being in a dance group called, "Floorgasm."
I love Holt and his addiction to kwazy kupcakes.

I want a game called Kwazy Cupcakes now.
And Terry Crews is just too adorable on that show. I think I just love the whole thing (especially Diaz, but I feel like she's the version of me if I could get away with that sort of thing).

It's back! Hooray! Great episode, too. Terry Crews was hysterical, especially as the Unattended Backpack. "Tick ... tick ... tick ..."

I love Captain Holt's "smiling." Andre Braugher nails this role.

My husband and I just found this show and LOVE IT. I wish it was on all the time. Joe Lo Truglio needs to be in all the things.

Terry Crews is AMAZING. I have very little interest in the other characters when he could be...ticking.

Can we talk about Andre Braugher's amazing monologue in front of Hitchcock and Scully last week? I was enthralled, right up until I started laughing.

He is so great on this show. The monologue was great, and then in the video Jake created pretending to rat him out as the mole. "Captain Holt . . . has a flair for the DRAMATIC!" I regret not giving this show a chance sooner, because it's a delight.blooey wrote:Can we talk about Andre Braugher's amazing monologue in front of Hitchcock and Scully last week?
