Sarah Michelle Gellar
SMG, David E. Kelley, and Robin Williams?
It'll definitely be one of the top attention-getting new series if it goes forward. As much as I think it could go very, very wrong, I also think that DEK at his best would be a perfect fit for her, so I have hope.

I'm giddy with excitement. Less for Smidge than Robin Williams back on TV. I just hope Kelly's firing on all cylinders - and that they have a full-time Robin-wrangler on set.

Heh, "Robin-wrangler". I hope to see that listed in the credits. I'm excited too, I'm always happy to have Smidge on TV.

Single-camera or multi-camera? I can see pluses and minuses with both when it comes to Williams. Plus is that he's great in playing off of a live audience. Minus in that he no longer knows when to stop. Plus in that he's capable of surprising moments of emotion when there's no audience. Minus in that...well, many of us have seen Patch Adams.

Single camera. Since its DEK it will probably be more of a dramedy than a straight comedy which could play to both their strengths.

I haven't seen anything with SMG in forever, but I still laugh my ass off whenever her SNL guesting ep runs on E! She did a great job hosting, and I never get over the sketch with Chris Katan and Cheri O'Teri as the randy couple renting their cabin out to SMG and Chris Parnell. SMG will always have some goodwill from me just cuz of that ep.

SMG made a point to thank the cast, crew and fans of BtVS during her speech last night when she won an award for The Crazy Ones.

Aww, Smidge! I would have never pegged James for a Jimmy.

Thats so sweet!
I think James Wolk used to be credited as Jimmy Wolk.

Did anyone get past the first episode of her show? Because I tried, but I couldn't even make it through the pilot. Honestly, I think Ringer was funnier.

I also thought the pilot was terrible, but I tuned in for the Josh Groban episode, because I'm a fan of his acting (sadly, not his music) and it was funny. Like surprisingly so. So, I went back and watched a couple of the older episodes and then have been watching steadily since, and I actually really like it. It's a show that's all about the cast chemistry and the chemistry is great.swsa wrote:Did anyone get past the first episode of her show? The Crazy Ones is one of my favorite shows this season. Yes, the pilot and a few episodes after were slow but it's really picked up and now I think the cast has found its footing.

One of my favorites, too. SMG has surprisingly good chemistry with Hamish Linklater. It's goofy and fun. I hope it sticks around for awhile.

SMG's AMA on Reddit.
Despite being a huge BtVS fan, I was never a big fan of her, particularly. A few years ago, I heard her interviewed on a local radio station. One of the DJs was a BtVS nerd, and SMG could not have been more gracious, and played along with all the Buffy jokes. And now this Reddit, during which she is also gracious and adorable and apparently I was wrong about her.

Really appreciated these answers in particular. She has seemed a lot more positive and gracious about BtVS in the past few years, which is nice to see.

I think the distance has really improved her feelings on the whole experience. She always seemed fairly burnt out by the show at the end.

Re: Sarah Michelle Gellar
Which is understandable given her workload!
I did find it adorable that when she was on Conan she mentioned hanging out with Seth! I mean I know their friendship predates Buffy but it was still cute.
The Crazy Ones has definitely improved and the cast has a good chemistry, particularly her and Hamish and her rapport with Robin.

Re: Sarah Michelle Gellar
apparently I was wrong about her.
I just read an article with her where she says she's basically a completely different person than she was while she was working on Buffy, which she attributed to being a parent, and allowing herself the time to chill the fuck out that she never had/took when she was in her teens/20's.
I did stop watching the Crazy One's after three episodes, it hadn't really gelled by then, but I could see how it would, I think Smidgette is so good at comedy, and generally adorable, and balances out Williams, and that James Wolk is charmer when he's not being a creep on Mad Men. I do plan to catch up on it.
Re: Sarah Michelle Gellar
Thanks for posting the links, Putli Bai & Carrie Ann. I had an annoying day & I'm getting a kick out of the Reddit interview.

Reason #967 why I like Smidge.
Also, to "Kardashian's longtime pal Jonathan Cheben" - BUFFY WILL ALWAYS MATTER.

I don't like Kim and Kanye either, but... really? What's wrong with them being on Vogue? There is no context here. For all I know, she's pissed that Vogue has black people on the cover.

I think that most people who have an opinion about the cover of Vogue would understand the context of that particular tweet without further explication.
