Re: Hannibal
Man, I don't need any more excuses to think Fassbender is creepy as all get out.

Regina Lass = Reggie Lass who was the main character's little sister on Dead Like Me.
Oh Reggie. This makes me really really sad.

Can I just say how awesome it is seeing Scott Thompson in something that is so clearly not Kids in the Hall? I've been meaning to mention that every time he pops up as a CSI guy.

Re: Hannibal
It's interesting how they rarely show Hannibal doing anything awful to people (unless you count cooking scenes). I had a moment last night where I suddenly realized "WAIT, IT WAS *HANNIBAL* WHO GOUGED THAT WOMAN'S EYES OUT IN THE BEGINNING." But the most we ever see him do onscreen is a little strangling and Vulcan neck gripping.

Re: Hannibal
I don't think it was, though--it was Gideon, although I don't know exactly why he just decided to copycat that murder. I mean, it's implied that Chilton either knowingly goaded him into it or accidentally influenced him by trying to get him to "remember" that he was so totally the Chesapeake Ripper. I'm just not sure whether Gideon genuinely came to believe that, or he knowingly did it for the lulz or something.
Re: Hannibal
Wait, how do you get that it was Gideon? I thought he was responsible for none of the crimes in the end?

Re: Hannibal
Well, we actually see him do it. Then Will empaths the part we didn't see. He says, "I was caught red-handed. Literally." And then Hannibal's mad that someone else is copying ~his murders~ and getting the credit, which he wouldn't be if he were trying to set someone else up by magically teleporting into the high-security institution (not that I doubt he could wizard his way in if he wanted to).
Re: Hannibal
Oh, I thought that was in Gideon's HEAD or something. Like he was imagining it (as he would if he thought he committed the crime). IT WAS ALL A DREAM! I CAN MAKE THIS WORK IF I TRY HARD ENOUGH!
(well okay then)

Re: Hannibal
Honestly, with this show I have no idea half the time, who, what, when, real or not - like, just pass the mushroom tea :D
Also, can we discuss the sheer awesomeness of Will's "more... or... less...", with the thousand yard stare? Because by God, the awesome.

Re: Hannibal
An interview with Bryan Fuller - some interesting stuff in there, mild spoilers about how he sees the future (*sigh*) seasons structured and a casting spoiler that has been in nearly all the promos. He also talks about Twitter, eating people, various networks, and how Mads is making Hannibal his own.
Ratings are staying uniform (and pretty horrible). But apparently NBC has nothing else going on? So it's still up in the air if the show could come back next year.

Re: Hannibal
I saw a couple of articles claiming the ratings were pretty good? I'm guessing they meant that "for NBC" was implied.
Re: Hannibal
Just watched this episode. Damn, but this one was hard to watch. More so than the "meat angels" one. I was watching it on Hulu, and kept getting scared, so I would scroll down a little bit so I wouldn't actually see all that was happening on the screen! (yes, I am a huge wuss) In regards to why Hannibal kept Miriam for so long, I think he did it because she was the only one to get that close to him. I mean, if she had managed to get away, he would have been screwed. I think he kept her for future use. She was Jack's trainee, so he could mess with the FBI anytime he wanted, and also using her body that way (even after death) is a kind of punishment for those who were after him (the FBI) and more personally a punishment to her for getting so close.

Re: Hannibal
Yes, the show has been drawing 1.0. Which...no bueno. But for NBC in that time slot? Not the worst thing they've put up. I would say we are guaranteed to see at least the first season since they already bought all of them and they are made. But after that I think it would be better off if it could go to something like AMC or F/X or one of the pay channels. It would almost certainly last the whole seven seasons Fuller wants on one of those channels. If it stays at NBC, every single season will be torture waiting to see if it's renewed.PrincessCleo wrote:I saw a couple of articles claiming the ratings were pretty good? Re: Hannibal
I wish that this show had gone to AMC or FX in the first place, I think it would have more of a chance to become a hit. I'm just really hoping it doesn't get cancelled, because I have fallen in love with it.

Re: Hannibal
Yeah, I've turned into one of those people who gets mad at other TV shows for taking "their" slot. WHY DID YOU PUT GRIMM ON AFTER THE VOICE, PEOPLE ALREADY WATCH THAT SHOW!!1!
Re: Hannibal
I'm aggravated on behalf of Grimm AND Hannibal on that one - Grimm was the best network performing show on Friday! Why would you mess with that? Put Hannibal on at that time and see what happens rather than letting it continue to break itself against Thursday at 10!PrincessCleo wrote:Yeah, I've turned into one of those people who gets mad at other TV shows for taking "their" slot. Re: Hannibal
Every time Hannibal feeds somebody and quips like "I assure you, it was a very supercillious pig", I find myself going "Oh dear God, sausage is people" and at the same time nearly chuckling and thinking "oh that scamp!" I know what he's doing is SO WRONG AND HE'S KILLING PEOPLE but I don't see him killing anyone. And then I see him reacting to Freddie's article about the Chesapeake Ripper and I know he's that killer. But somehow I don't REALLY KNOW until Miriam turns up on his doorstep and I'm internally screaming "GET OUT! GET OUT!" and then you see him sneaking down those stairs and getting her in that choke hold. And then he does that little smile at the end when he's talking to Jack Crawford and I'm back to thinking, "Lecter, you BASTARD! You really are the WORST at helping!" And I can't help but be sad for when Will and Jack find out that this colleague of theirs, who they are trusting with some very personal stuff, is really a cannibalistic nightmare. And along with the sad is this gleeful anticipation because when this shit goes down, it will be EPIC on a lot of levels and hopefully Jack Crawford will do a lot of that shouty thing he does because he's probably the only person, who when they shout, I say "YEAH! YOU TELL THEM JACK!"
Like was previously mentioned, I'm having ALL THE FEELINGS! (And apparently an attack of CAPSLOCK as well).
I went into Charlie Byrne's, the big second hand bookshop here, and I found Red Dragon and I bought it and I'm going to be reading it and please light a candle for me that I survive a scary story that I have avoided reading, even though I saw both films based on it, because a scary book is worse for me than a scary film. I have already cleared space in the fridge for it, as per PrincessCleo's suggestion.

Re: Hannibal
You know how to be even more creeped out by Hannibal killing Miriam (RUDE SHOCKINGLY RUDE!)--consider it through the lens of "Jack Crawford sent a trainee...to me?"
Please don't take this show away TPTB. I will sign away my rights to the Shanshu to get 5+ seasons.
