Not sure if I like that we shall see.

Re: Saturday Night Live
After several weeks of mediocre and disappointing episodes, last night was actually good. Anna Kendrick was a surprisingly natural host. Also, I'm always happy to see "Les Jeunes des Paris".

Re: Saturday Night Live
Seth Rogen was also a fine host, even if the Franco bit in the monologue was a bit cringeworthy. I'm not sure if the cast is beginning to gel, if I'm simply getting used to them, or if my expectations have lowered without my noticing it, but I actually laughed to the point of tears a few times on Satuday. Colin Jost is completely wooden in the WU spot, sadly, though Cecily Strong has hit the ground running. The entire point of having two anchors is for some sort of chemistry to develop between them. I'm not seeing that happen with Jost and Strong

Can we as a society accept there will be at least two walk-ons on any given episode of SNL and not hold up the proceedings with any whooing?

We now know the identity of the first victim of the summer hiatus. Goodbye, Brooks Whelan, and may you find airtime elsewhere.

Followed by John Milhiser, Noel Wells, and veteran Nasim Pedrad. Pedrad hasn't been confirmed, but she's stated that as far as she knows, she lives in Los Angeles now.

Re: Saturday Night Live
I couldn't have picked Milhiesner out of a line up. Wells seemed like she got the job just on the Girls spoof alone and had nothing in the bank after that.
I hope Mike O'Brien survives. I actually liked his pre-taped bits better than Mooney's (who I'm not sold on at all).
It's shame Mulaney didn't get a shot at the Update desk.

I love Nasim Pedrad. What a bummer.

She got a sitcom (one of the reasons she's been so underutilized this season), so it was inevitable.

Re: Saturday Night Live
I figured she would break out when Wiig left, but it seemed like we saw her even less.
As loath as I am to see the show get whiter, it's got to be about that time for Keenan.

I suspect that he has one more season left in him, though it wouldn't surprise me if you were right.

At least we won't have that Kardashian imitation anymore, although I guess that's mostly the directors' faults.

Yeah, I honestly thought someone mixed that up, because she is great. Maybe we can get her Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With At a Party back?

Re: Saturday Night Live
Michael Che looks promising, but in the way Cecily is better in sketches than on Update, I kind of think her boyfriend, Mike O'Brien, would be better on Update than he is in sketches. And Colin Jost can go back in the writers room.

On the other hand, does this mean 4 black people on SNL?

Re: Saturday Night Live
Was just coming over to post this. I think that he's an excellent choice. Also, with Hillary Clinton likely to run, it'll be good to have a practiced Bill impression in their back pocket.

Re: Saturday Night Live
Oh God that reminds me of the time Hammond reprised Clinton on a 2004 Affleck hosted episode, in a sketch about the Kerry campaign. "You can run Theresa, but I'll catch up!" "Watchin' you two show affection is like watchin' two lobsters in a kung fu movie." An all time great skit.
I love that SNL has kept a place for him all these years.

I can't find a clip, but I loved the one immediately after the impeachment attempt failed, and he held a press conference in the Rose Garden. He strutted up to the microphone, held up the thumb, and stated "I...am...bulletproof". He then turned to leave, thought better of it, leaned forward, and sneered "Next time, y'all better bring Kryptonite." before swaggering away.

Re: Saturday Night Live
Ha, yes, I loved that. I just generally adore his Clinton. The movie reviews are some of my favorites. I know it's a one-joke thing (all the movies have wives that die or something), but he just makes it so funny.
