Re: Death Pool
I haven't watched the show since very early in the second season, and I haven't really kept up with the storylines, but if Lea does want out of her contract, I sort of think it would be bittersweet if they allowed the characters to live on together. I don't know. There really isn't a great way to handle it, but it seems unbearable for all of the actors and crew to have to act out their grief on-screen.

Re: Death Pool
I don't think a death has taken me this by shock and left me this stunned since Heath Ledger. wrote:
Same here. I think it really is that I watched him on screen every week and he seemed like the fun, goofy guy everyone knows and loves to hang out with. And also that he was my age, so (although this is a totally naive way to think) I am always shocked that people my age can die. Stupid, yes, but it just seems like it's a horrible mistake that I keep waiting for someone to fix - like, fun, happy, nice, young guys don't die, right? The whole thing is so tragic.
I really hope they let Lea Michele do whatever she is most comfortable doing, and if that means leaving the show abruptly and immediately, then so be it.

Someone I know said its also kinda devastating that someone full of light probably died in such a dark way.

Re: Death Pool
Agreed. Just on the most mundane level, can you imagine if she doesn't want to stay, someone having to go have the conversation with her to tell her that she has to? Who the hell is going to be able to bear doing that? I guess someone from the show would tell her manager and then her manager would be the one to tell her, but still. I just can see that getting quite a lot more terrible really quickly.eventide82 wrote:I really hope they let Lea Michele do whatever she is most comfortable doing, and if that means leaving the show abruptly and immediately, then so be it.
Are they in production right now? Are they taking a hiatus or anything like that?

I haven't watched Glee since the second season and I have no idea who is even on the show anymore. But I always loved Cory/Finn when I did watch and I can't stop thinking about this. This one has hit me hard too for some reason. All the pics of him and Lea together just seemed like they were so happy and I cannot begin to imagine the hell she is going through right now. It's all just so sad.

Re: Death Pool
Apparently production was starting again really soon, like, within weeks. And apparently the first few episodes to air are extremely Finn-centric (whether they've been filmed already or not I don't know). I really wonder how they're going to handle this.
Re: Death Pool
I hope that wherever he is, Cory is touched by the outpouring of shock and grief and love for him. I seriously don't know anything about the guy, but he just gave off such a genuinely sweet, humble vibe, and it's horrible that he passed so suddenly when he had so much life ahead of him.

I think it's so sad that he died alone. In a hotel room. That just seems so tragic and sad to me. I've seen people die before and the watching someone die alone is always the worst. It makes me sad to think of him alone in that hotel room.

Re: Death Pool
Coroner is saying it was "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol".
This is just so heartbreaking. And I know this is random, but I can't help thinking that Lea has the kind of personality where she may drive herself nuts trying to think of how she could've fixed this. Just so, so sad.

Re: Death Pool
Oh that's heartbreaking. I read a couple articles that stated he basically had two lives. He was pretty fully sober with his LA people but had friends in Vancouver he'd party with. Ugh poor man. And poor family and lea.

Definitely sounds familiar, I know a lot of addicts feel they have to remove themselves from a particular physical environment because of all the "old friends", invariably they when they put themselves back in that environment they relapse, which is hard to cut off since it's also often tied up in "home" and "family".
Re: Death Pool
I'd heard vaguely about him going to rehab but had no idea for what. I never expected he'd be abusing something as hardcore as heroin. God, that is awful.

Re: Death Pool
That interview with Ryan Murphy was difficult to read. I don't really know what else they could do, tbh. Finn was such an integral character, for him to leave and never come back wouldn't work.

Re: Death Pool
That episode is going to be impossible to watch. The show was already on the wane, and I can't imagine it lasting much longer without Cory and Finn.

Re: Death Pool
James Gandolfini, Cory Monteith, and Dennis Farina make three celebrity deaths. NO MORE. Damn. All unexpected and too young.

Re: Death Pool
This really sucks. I loved Farina, for no good reason he reminded me of my dad, and since they're close to the same age it makes me extra verklempt. I want to go watch all of Crimestory now. I will major miss him on New Girl. Rest in Peace.
Re: Death Pool
I can't tell you how sad it makes me that Mike Torello is dead. One of my favorite characters (and one of my favorite character actors) of all time.

Oh man, this sucks. I never did get around to watching the final episode of Crime Story, I have to get to that. I loved his Chicago accent and he was such a handsome man.

Crime Story was the most underrated series of the 1980s, and Farina was brilliant in it. I've been a fan ever since.

Re: Death Pool
I didn't realise how late in life he came in to acting. I had no idea he was a police officer for 18 years.
Re: Death Pool
Farina being an Ex-cop was my favorite fact about him.
"Do you have a t-shirt that says Undercover?"
First Durning and now Farina, let's hope Dennis Franz is in good health or there will be no one left to play cops.
