It is so creepy. I greatly enjoy fanfic (reading & writing it), but RPF is where I draw the line. It always makes me feel so uncomfortable. I guess maybe to some people, their idealized version of these celebrities is as fictional as TV/movie characters, but I remember stumbling upon RPF in The X-Files fandom a long time ago, and let's just say that the fans who indulged in that were not... the most tethered to reality? (i.e., they were rabid haters of Tea Leoni because Gillian & David were OTP in real life & how dare she be married to him?)

Oh, my God, that was hilarious! I didn't even know that people shipped those two together. I actually had to look up what they were in together, because I somehow had missed that Fassbender was also in X-Men Babies. And yeah, while I may want Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves to marry each other, I somehow feel wrong about RPF.

I will say this about Duchovny and Anderson - when he first started dating Tea Leoni, there was a picture of them in like US or People or something and I actually thought it was a picture of Gillian Anderson. I thought Tea Leoni looked SO much like her back in those days, it was actually the first thing that made me wonder if he was into GA. But that certainly wasn't on Tea Leoni who always seemed to be much in love with DD and didn't deserve any vitriol that was sent her way.

I have to give Graham Norton credit here because I had zero opinion on both Hugh Jackman and Michael Fassbender before seeing them on his show (McAvoy's delightfulness was previously learned on the Craig Ferguson show).

I had actually never even heard of Michael Fassbender (outside of commentary here) until someone linked the interview with him, Marky Mark, Sarah Silverman and he was just as funny there and is quite handsome with a great accent. And Hugh Jackman is someone I'd obviously heard of, but I haven't really seen his movies and must not have seen any interviews because I just had no opinion of him outside of the fact that he's obviously attractive.

After this video, they are all way up on my liked celebrities list! And I hope everyone found the follow-up to the linked clip, where they all dance to Blurred Lines.

I just made the mistake of watching this at my desk at work with headphones, I literally cannot wipe the smile off my face. Very hard to pretend I'm reading actual work-related stuff.

Hugh Jackman is killing me, "please call me Wolverine" made me laugh forever. And James McAvoy just seems like a ton of fun to be around.

There's just something about these Middle-Earth movies that makes people sure that certain cast members are a couple. I can't think of any other fandoms quite like the original tinhatters. Maybe Supernatural comes close.

While there is definitely more than enough crazy going around in LOTR fandom, I think there might be some truth to this one. Or at least enough smoke out there that thinking its a fire isn't totally nuts?

Apparently she's an escort hired by Harvey Weinstein to fake an engagement for PR, but she's so grasping she decided to get pregnant in order to force BC to make it permanent, and the poor ickle lizard-weasel is just the innocent victim in all of this.

I actually almost believe this one, simply because any situation that involves Harvey Weinstein being horrible and controlling is a plausible one.

Where have you seen those things about Cumberbatch and his fiancee?  I was looking for the theories after the engagement was announced but a quick look at Tumblr did not give me the fangirl tears I need to survive.

Celebitchy appears to be the new land of the Cumberbitches. Just look for any entry with over 300 comments and there's probably some primo crazy.

I think, honestly and truly, that Sophie wore that dress because Benedict was backtracking on his promise to marry her. His rhetoric changed from wedding planning to what’s the rush. So, she decided to show everyone what the rush was by wearing that dress and forcing a reveal of his secret. And she put him in his place. And put a grin on her own face. And ended up introducing herself to the his co-workers on Sherlock, so he could reveal the pregnancy before his pr did. I told y’all that Sophie was driving this train. Benedict is just getting taken for the ride.

She is playing him like Sherlock’s violin. I think my final theory is tryout for (read: paid) PR/red carpet season girlfriend. He mixed business with pleasure and she saw an opportunity. Oops.
I don’t think he’d be that ashamed/embarrassed if she was an actual girlfriend who happened to get preg. Even a fwb. I think he’s embarrassed because he got the help knocked up.

I also think he’s in over his head. But he’s trying to plot an escape. So far, he hasnt been successful.

But if she starts costing him acting jobs, he might finally see the light and end this mess once and for all.

Speaking of psychotic fans, the Keanu Reeves forums at IMDB and Topix are a whole other level of crazy and not good crazy. If you believe the wackadoos over there, he's a drug addicted closeted homosexual. Not to mention a misogynist and possible baby killer. I'm all for free speech and having your own opinions, but I do hate that the internet has become such a powerful platform for nasty bullies.

I think it's because he keeps his personal life private, so certain deluded fans assume that means he's hiding something. I remember he lost a baby years ago, but it amazes me that someone could see that as anything more than a terrible tragedy.

Keanu has admitted to drug use in his youth, and I've always loved his refusal to *deny* gay rumors, if anything ever has convinced me a guy wasn't closeted it was his patented "Oh people think I'm gay? That's cool/nice" response. Like none of this is scandalous, calm down IMDB.

This will not stand. I don't usually pay attention to nasty rumour-mongering but with Keanu, that just makes me furious. I've read countless stories detailing what a wonderful, humble, generous person he is. He gave the costume and special effects department of the Matrix movies $50 million of his own earnings because he felt they deserved it more. This thread will warm your heart.
