I'm posting from my phone because I haven't been able to

Yes, but my suggestion is slightly annoying. You can do it, or you can wait till they fix it on their end.

Log in through a proxy, by going to:
http://www.usawebproxy.com/

And putting in the usual SF address under "Let's Browse"
https://thesnarkening.forumotion.com/

ETA: I had an idea. I have a feeling if you use the bit.ly URL, it will work the same way as going through the proxy server:
http://bit.ly/mOrjfe

That's better because it's just one step.

I just looked into this. This is unrelated to the current site (Snarkphoenix). It is from whatever iteration of Snarkfest we had back in 2005, which I think was SF2, the one that was deleted by Runswithscissors.

Would everyone be cool with my adding a Facebook button (to the Snarkfest Facebook page) to the button bar up top, and deleting the Calendar button? Also, perhaps, an LJ button for the SF LJ comm?

Tap tap is anyone reading this? Glen wanted to know if this would potentially cause an issue with SF names getting linked to real names. I don't think it would because the Facebook comm can be closed to outsiders to fix that. (In fact I recommend it.)

I'd be interested in hearing thoughts on this. I'm reluctant to weigh in myself as a mod, but traditionally we would have avoided creating direct links between our SF presence and our real life identities. Whether that would be very much changed by linking to the FB page I don't know.

I see it, I don't know why it's doing that, and I've done nothing to the board that could possibly affect it. The only changes I've made lately were to turn off the chat room and add a button at the top for the Tinychat.

So, I clicked on the New Posts link, and I got this scary message: "The maximum number of 20 login attempts has been exceeded. You are not allowed to login for the next 10 minutes. Each new try will put back the duration of your banishment."

Someone else reported seeing that on the SF Facebook group. I don't know. They said it went away though. Possibly a hacking attempt?

We should be back to normal now. I made a couple of changes to the CSS to hide the avatars so that next year it won't be as much of a hassle to bring them back, and I'm a little worried about side effects. Please tell me about any weird display bugs. (If worse comes to worse, I'll reset it back to the way it used to be, but I don't want to have to personally turn on every person's avatar again next year if I can possible help it.)

Not sure what you can do about google ads, but one of them is telling me that "2 people are spying on you." I know this is just a malware trap, but I am worried about accidentally clicking, or someone else clicking. Can anything be done? It's the second time I've seen it within a very few mintes. There was another weird one as well that said "click here" or something - I forget what it was exactly.

I really don't think there's anything I can do. For one thing, I don't actually see the ads myself always? I don't think Forumotion has any control either. You probably have to report it to Google.
