Did anyone else watching Inspector Lewis on Masterpiece Mystery get all giddy over Robbie and Laura this last ep? No? Okay, I'll just go hang out with the old people over here then.

I have that episode recorded but haven't had a chance to watch it yet! I didn't know anyone else was watching this series. It got some attention, but then Sherlock just eclipsed everything else BBC mystery-wise (I love both shows). I hear this is the last season.

*raises hand*
I love this show, so I hope it's not the last season.

I think the next season is going to be Inspector Hathaway, perhaps with that guy that was Lewis' temporary partner in the last ep (can't remember his name). At least I hope so - as much as I love Lewis, I also love Hathaway!

I could live with that. Hathaway is awesome in my book, and the main reason the spin-off series has worked so well.

I'd be happy with an Inspector Hathaway series.

YES! Finally.
I hadn't heard of a spinoff series but it absolutely would work. Hathaway is great.

Re: What Are You Watching
Inspector Lewis is a spin-off of Inspector Morse, where Lewis was Morse's partner, so Inspector Hathaway would make sense as the next iteration. *fingers crossed*

Laurence Fox is moving to LA, so it will be awhile if it ever happens or with a different actor. Apparently it was his and Kevin's decision to end the show.

RIGHT? The first time I saw the finale, my jaw just hung open. That last scene is just so... I don't even know. The second season definitely has some missteps, but it's a shame that people gave up on it and it had to be axed. After the utterly pointless James plot that ground the show to a halt, I thought they managed to eventually get it together and make the show compelling again. A third season exploring the forest and the lodges could have been really fun.

I started watching Archer on Netflix. And now I'm annoyed at all this time I have to spend at work not watching Archer.
When it switched to Season 2 after just 10 episodes, I made this face D:

Re: What Are You Watching
I finally saw the most recent ep of Inspector Lewis. The Robbie and Laura thing was nice (didn't that one review call their courtship "excruciatingly slow," or something like?), but I really liked that last moment with DC Gray, it was very sweet, and set up some potentially interesting background mystery to investigate later (like what they did with Robbie's wife). I love Hathaway. Was he mostly missing from this ep because he has a lot of other projects going on?

Oh that is sad news. The only thing that can make me feel better now is either new Poirot or new Sherlock. And who knows when those will come back! :(

I seem to remember them mentioning that the last new Poirot was the last actual Agatha Christie Poirot story that Suchet hadn't done, and that there wouldn't be any more. But my brain is just making that up - ?
Speaking of David Suchet, I loved his recent series where he traveled the Mediterranean and middle east in the footsteps of St. Paul.

Been watching The Killing but am currently hiatus'd in the second season while my man catches up. Also watching The Fall. I don't normally seek out crime shows but I'm really enjoying both of these.

Re: What Are You Watching
I think the BBC will air the new season of Sherlock in the fall. I've seen some discussion about whether the US will get it at the same time, but I'm not counting on anything earlier than Spring 2014.The only thing that can make me feel better now is either new Poirot or new Sherlock.

Re: What Are You Watching
I think as long as it's part of Masterpiece, it's always going to be about six months behind the BBC, same with Downton Abbey.
Even after Doctor Who moved from SyFy to BBCAmerica, we were still several weeks behind on almost everything except the Christmas specials until Series 6. Not sure why those delays would exist in a day and age of digital media other than Masterpiece having their schedule booked out so far in advance, which is probably the reason.

Re: What Are You Watching
Is anyone watching Christopher Guest's new series Family Tree? I really like it. I enjoyed the episodes set in England way more than the I've enjoyed the ones set in LA so far, but a lot of that has to do with how over Fred Willard I am. It's made me laugh aloud more than any other sitcom in the past year. And Chris O'Dowd is just a joy unto himself. I love him.

We're a few episodes behind, dionneshea, (we just watched the one where he goes to LA), but I'm really enjoying it as well. Chris O'Dowd is adorable, his friend cracks me up, and my husband is obsessed with Bea and Monk.
