Re: Parks and Recreation
I was okay with Tom and Ann at first, but after the song episode I just wanted it to go away, because Tom made me want to kill him, and I hated that Ann gave in. Though, I'm okay if they kept them around just for the Ginuwine bit, because that was a delight.

Re: Parks and Recreation
That's my biggest issue with how they're doing it so far: Ann just seems to give in not because, aw shucks, she secretly has a soft spot for the guy, but because he is so goddamn annoying she will do anything to get him to stop whatever annoying thing he's doing. I wish they'd turn that dial just a LITTLE more towards the "Tom is lovable" side; it would go a long way for me. I think this pairing could be really fun (she dated ANDY), but they're not quite making it work for me. And yes, the Ginuwine thing was hilarious. I also loved Donna when Tom saw the picture. "Oh. Have I not mentioned that?" with the smug smile. Donna is the secret weapon of this show.Jasmine wrote:I was okay with Tom and Ann at first, but after the song episode I just wanted it to go away, because Tom made me want to kill him, and I hated that Ann gave in. I do not care how many times they showed it, I could not stop laughing at how the citizens of Pawnee drink from the water fountain.
I am also pleased that I got tickets to Aziz's new tour!

Re: Parks and Recreation
The water fountain stuff was killing me too. And Andy ripping off the guard to get to the spout. Heh.
Leslie's lines about Ben:
“He’s like a brilliant sexy little hummingbird.”
“As a candidate, I appreciate your strategic mind. But, as a woman, all I care about is your slight but powerful body.”
“You are a man-genius with a taut narrow frame like a sexy elf king.”

Re: Parks and Recreation
Carl Reiner was hilarious. I read that he ad-libbed the story that his character told about his brother to Leslie and Ben, and Amy Poehler and Adam Scott kept cracking up, thus the quick cuts to their reactions.

Re: Parks and Recreation
The way Tom kept repeating "puppy" when he was trying to cheer April up was delightful. It cracked me up.
On a Tom note, I have no feelings one way or the other about Chris/Ann, but I get a little giddy every time Christ shoots her a wistful glance because it means that Tom/Ann will be over soon. That's the one thing on this show that I just can't get behind.

Re: Parks and Recreation
Why won't they let Tom/Ann die? Why?! I got so hopeful tonight that Chris and Ann were back on, and then they just wrecked it.
I love Bobby Newport so much. I really don't want him to go away. I also love his campaign manager.
Andy's retelling of various movies was gold. As were Donna's reactions.

Ron Swanson singing "Wichita Lineman" is my favorite thing ever.
I think Amy Poehler did a really great job directing. The scenes in the debate hall, even with some funny moments (damn you, Perd Hapley, you time hog) were pretty intense.

Re: Parks and Recreation
I love this show. I love that April trying to help Tom and calling out the four things she cares about (Andy, Champion, Lesile winning and sleeping) is just sweet/poignant as Lesile's closing statement.
The cast is so crazy amazing but Chris Pratt has been killing it!
Did anyone see Amy on Letterman? Dave's love of the show is so great! Cameo next season!

Calling it now: the porn star is going to win the election, because she and Leslie are "so much alike".

I loved this whole episode so much. And I am really, really sad, because it got its lowest ratings of the year. I am so worried about this show getting canceled; I don't think I can take it.
Though pushing Ann and Tom back together may make it a little easier... heh.

I loved this, too. I had to crack up when I realized that he was recounting the action from Road House. Donna's response of "I feel like I just did" to Andy's plea that they should watch Babe was perfect.dionneshea wrote:Andy's retelling of various movies was gold. As were Donna's reactions.
I was annoyed with the tease of Chris/Ann in this episode only to get more potential Tom/Ann at the end. Ugh. KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Re: Parks and Recreation
Last night's episode was so fun, but my favorite moment was Donna winning the day with the van guy. I love this tweet from Mike Schur last night
We put down beats for the eps on index cards, and one of them for this ep said: "Donna's Ultimate Sacrifice."

Re: Parks and Recreation
Donna loves Leslie so much she sacrificed her Benz!
Not that everyone on this show isn't fantastic but Chris Pratt has just been killing me this season. The slow reenactment of the pie in Jerry's face and "you came her to pie him!," the nicknames he came with for everyone, Ben's reaction about being "Eagle 2" was great, though I am disappointed that we didn't here his nickname for Tom.

I loved his nickname for Leslie - "Can't Say I Haven't Thought About It". Hee, I love Andy and Chris Pratt.
Michael Schur also tweeted that Mike O'Malley was very nearly cast as Ron Swanson. I love him and was happy to see him pop up on P&R last night, but I cannot see him as Ron Swanson. Nick Offerman does such a great job that imagining anyone else does not compute.

Just a warning, even though the finale didn't air early in Canada like the previous episodes it's online and so spoilers exist!

Holy crap, that episode was pretty much flawless. I welled up twice - once when Leslie did, and again during her speech.
Leslie and Ben are the best couple on television, hands down.

What's that? No, I'm not crying. Ben is not the second-sweetest guy ever for believing in Leslie so much that he knew she wouldn't need a concession speech. Shut up. *sniffle*
